The health emergency by COVID-19 has accelerated the growth of the proposals in telemedicine and Digital Health in Paraguay.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In Paraguay, the government, through the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC), announced measures to promote health and spread information to address COVID-19. In March, they created a web portal to access information on the virus and the advancement of contagion and also to establish direct communication with the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Paraguay has a digital transformation project, however, previously it only contemplated the digitization of bureaucratic processes and digital economy. Following the outbreak of COVID-19 a Health Emergency Bill was proposed in the National Congress, and articles were established in order to seek the obligation of the digitization of Estate processes, including health services.<\/p>

On the other hand, innovation by the society has also been present during the pandemic, such as MediGet, an online platform that began its development more than two years ago and was recently released.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This platform offers remote consultations through cell phone, tablets or computers, with specialists from different branches. MediGet offers a subscription for doctors for just 15 USD per month to access the platform and appear in the directory of specialists. About the cost of the consultation, it depends on the doctor's specialty, it can go between 15 to 25 US and doctors receive 90% of the profits.<\/p>

In addition to this telemedicine project, a young Paraguayan initiative was presented to the deputy Sebasti\u00e1n Garc\u00eda, president of the Committee on Science and Technology of the Chamber of Deputies. The Dr. Click initiative consists of a digital platform similar to MediGet, offering different medical specialties. The deputy reported that if there is a need, a regulation will be worked on so that it can be implemented.<\/p>

La emergencia sanitaria por COVID-19 ha acelerado el crecimiento de las propuestas en telemedicina y Salud Digital en Paraguay. En Paraguay, el gobierno por medio del Ministerio de Tecnolog\u00edas de la Informaci\u00f3n y Comunicaci\u00f3n (MITIC), anunci\u00f3 medidas para la promoci\u00f3n de la salud y difusi\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n para hacer frente al COVID-19. En marzo, crearon un portal web para acceder a informaci\u00f3n sobre el virus y el avance de los contagios y adem\u00e1s para establecer comunicaci\u00f3n directa con el Ministerio de Salud. Paraguay cuenta con un proyecto de trasformaci\u00f3n digital, sin embargo, anteriormente solo contemplaba la digitalizaci\u00f3n de procesos burocr\u00e1ticos y la econom\u00eda digital, tras el brote de COVID-19 se propuso un Proyecto de Ley de Emergencia Sanitaria en el Congreso Nacional, y se establecieron art\u00edculos que buscan la obligatoriedad de la digitalizaci\u00f3n del proceso del estado, incluyendo servicios de salud. Por otro lado, la innovaci\u00f3n por parte de la ciudadan\u00eda tambi\u00e9n ha estado presente durante la pandemia, como MediGet, una plataforma online que comenz\u00f3 su desarrollo hace m\u00e1s de dos a\u00f1os y que recientemente sali\u00f3 al mercado. Esta plataforma ofrece consultas remotas a trav\u00e9s de celular, tabletas o computadoras, con m\u00e9dicos especialistas de diferentes ramas. MediGet ofrece una suscripci\u00f3n para m\u00e9dicos de 15 USD mensuales para acceder a la plataforma y aparecer en el directorio de especialistas, en cuanto al costo de las consultas depende de la especialidad del m\u00e9dico, puede variar entre 15 a 25 US y los m\u00e9dicos reciben el 90% de las ganancias. Adem\u00e1s de este proyecto de telemedicina recientemente una iniciativa de j\u00f3venes paraguayos fue presentada ante el diputado Sebasti\u00e1n Garc\u00eda, presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda de la C\u00e1mara de Diputados. La iniciativa Dr. Click consiste en una plataforma digital similar a MediGet, que ofrece diferentes especialidades m\u00e9dicas. El diputado inform\u00f3 que si hay necesidad se trabajar\u00e1 en una reglamentaci\u00f3n para que pueda ser implementada. En Paraguay los servicios de telemedicina no han sido una prioridad, sin embargo, tras la emergencia sanitaria y su proyecto de digitalizaci\u00f3n tarde o temprano los servicios de salud incluir\u00e1n la Salud Digital en su agenda.
