According to a study published by the national Cancer Institute (NCI), black women are more propense to breast cancer than Caucasian women. The reason for premature deaths is the lack of attention given to the minorities and MIT aims to change that.<\/p><p>The aim of this project is to improve individual treatments and to become a helping tool to the specialist in the prevention and early treatment process. En este sentido, el nuevo modelo en funcionamiento trabajar\u00e1 sobre las mastograf\u00edas y los resultados que \u00e9stas arrojen para observar informaci\u00f3n que a simple vista no puede ser identificada. El sistema compara datos de los an\u00e1lisis para que se puedan estudiar con mayor amplitud los cambios en el tejido mamario que puedan ser precursores del c\u00e1ncer y as\u00ed evitar confusiones con factores hormonales y biol\u00f3gicos. Para poder establecer los primeros patrones de an\u00e1lisis, se introdujeron m\u00e1s de 90 mil estudios correspondientes a 60 mil pacientes que generaron la primera base de conocimiento. Con esta forma de Inteligencia Artificial, desarrollada por la profesora Regina Barzilay, se podr\u00e1 detectar el c\u00e1ncer hasta cinco a\u00f1os antes de su aparici\u00f3n. Los usuarios reales de la soluci\u00f3n, suben su informaci\u00f3n para ir creando un historial comparativo en el que se eval\u00faan sus estudios con base en la versi\u00f3n anterior y posteriormente se analizan en comparaci\u00f3n con los patrones previamente definidos en la base de conocimiento. Los estudios se pueden volver muy personalizados ya que, si el usuario tiene alg\u00fan riesgo por antecedentes, se le piden estudios complementarios para que los resultados sean totalmente personalizados. Algo muy importante es que, al ser una plataforma digital, permite eliminar las desigualdades raciales entre pacientes, ya que un estudio realizado por el Instituto Nacional del C\u00e1ncer (NCI) revela que las mujeres de color tienen m\u00e1s probabilidad de sufrir tumores de seno que las mujeres cauc\u00e1sicas. La raz\u00f3n de las muertes prematuras ha sido por falta de atenci\u00f3n a las minor\u00edas en la poblaci\u00f3n y el MIT tiene como objetivo combatir esta \u00edndole. La intenci\u00f3n de este proyecto es mejorar los tratamientos individuales y ser una herramienta de ayuda para los especialistas en el proceso de prevenci\u00f3n y tratamiento temprano del padecimiento. La penetraci\u00f3n de la soluci\u00f3n evita el sesgo generado en la evaluaci\u00f3n a pacientes debido a que el punto de inter\u00e9s est\u00e1 enfocado en una parte de la poblaci\u00f3n y no equitativamente. Para poder alcanzar el objetivo de ser una plataforma robusta para la detecci\u00f3n infalible, se tiene que comenzar creando una masa cr\u00edtica de par\u00e1metros a medir y casos detectados a los que se les pueda ofrecer atenci\u00f3n oportuna y una mejor oportunidad de continuar con vida detectando a tiempo y actuando oportunamente.
