Chatbot technology has contributed to healthcare by providing patients with a quick diagnosis by simply entering their symptoms and without the need to go to a doctor's appointment in cases where there is no emergency. They are offered as guides and accessible companions, for money and time saving.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Among the great advances that arise every day, there is a type of Artificial Intelligence that pretends to be a person behind a device, answering questions via chat: this is known as CHATBOTS.<\/strong><\/p>

Artificial Intelligence is a mode of programming towards machines so that they can have autonomous behaviors within a delimited number of actions; that is, to be able to make machines perform everyday activities like any of us.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Chatbots simulate a conversation with a human, generating automated responses mediated by algorithms and interacting in real time with people.<\/p>

In this sense, they are an innovative tool for the health sector, as it shortens times and distances.<\/p>

Damo Consulting<\/em> is a project founded in the city of Illinois, working with strategies that support and benefit healthcare companies.<\/p>

In addition, Providence St Joseph Health, from Washington State in the USA also launched one of the chatbots called Grace<\/em><\/strong>, which works on patient symptoms and, based on series of questions that the same system asks, measures the severity level of the health status and depending on it, can either prescribe medications on its own or, failing that, transfer with a specialist to better detail a diagnosis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Another system is IBM\u2019s WATSON<\/em><\/strong>, <\/em>developed in IBM's DeepQA<\/strong> project by a research team led by David Ferrucci., Although it is still developed and refined, it is an AI platform for business. What Watson offers is the ability to learn skills such as language, speech and reasoning without the need to include too many parameters. It's like carrying a complete smart device anywhere, without taking up as much space. It reproduces the ways of thinking, acting and deciding of the owners who manage this system, which seeks to emulate human behavior by simply calibrating data on the computer.<\/p>

The central theme of these systems and resuming chatbots, dedicated to the health sector, is the waiting time, as multiple surveys have warned that responses and diagnoses take no more than two minutes and that makes people prefer to download the App on their cell phone and from the comfort of their home have a doctor's appointment. The only factor against it is that competition grows between platforms and companies, which allows for a variety of options, and complicates the difference between platforms and companies.<\/p>

An important feature of these advanced tools is that they transcend borders, do not measure barriers in terms of distances.<\/p>

A namesake of Grace is operating in Mexico.<\/strong> Her name is Holly<\/strong>, a virtual assistant who sends a reminder to patients when they have to go to their doctor's appointment via text message, phone call or WhatsApp. This platform is developed by Nimblr's co-founder, Juan Vera, who with entrepreneurship seeks to improve medical services.<\/p>

It is not yet resolved whether Artificial Intelligence<\/strong>, through chatbots, is the answer\nto reduce obstacles in the person-care<\/em>relationship, but it has been measured that they produce cases of success in consultations and diagnosis. La tecnolog\u00eda de chatbots ha contribuido al cuidado de la salud permitiendo ofrecer a los pacientes un diagn\u00f3stico r\u00e1pido con solo ingresar sus s\u00edntomas y sin la necesidad de acudir a una cita m\u00e9dica en casos donde no existe alguna emergencia. Se ofrecen como gu\u00edas y acompa\u00f1antes que ahorran, principalmente, tiempo y dinero. Dentro de los grandes avances que d\u00eda a d\u00eda surgen, se encuentra un tipo de Inteligencia Artificial que simula ser una persona atr\u00e1s de un dispositivo, contestando preguntas v\u00eda chat: a esto se le conoce como CHATBOTS. La Inteligencia Artificial es un modo de programaci\u00f3n hacia las m\u00e1quinas para que estas puedan tener comportamientos aut\u00f3nomos dentro de un delimitado n\u00famero de acciones; esto es, poder hacer que las m\u00e1quinas realicen actividades cotidianas como cualquiera de nosotros. Los chatbots se encargan de simular una conversaci\u00f3n con un humano, generando respuestas automatizadas mediadas por algoritmos y que interact\u00faan en tiempo real con las personas. En este sentido, son una herramienta innovadora para el sector salud, pues acorta tiempos y distancias. Damo Consulting es un proyecto fundado en la ciudad de Illinois, que trabaja con estrategias que apoyan y benefician a las empresas dedicadas al cuidado de la salud. Sumando a este, Providence St Joseph Health, del estado de Washington en E.E.U.U tambi\u00e9n lanz\u00f3 uno de los chatbots llamado Grace, que trabaja sobre los s\u00edntomas de los pacientes y, con base en series de preguntas que el mismo sistema realiza, mide el nivel de gravedad del estado de salud y dependiendo de este, puede ya sea recetar por s\u00ed misma medicamentos o, en su defecto, transferir con un especialista para detallar un mejor diagn\u00f3stico. Otro sistema es el IBM WATSON, desarrollado en el proyecto DeepQA de IBM por un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n dirigido por David Ferrucci. Aunque se sigue desarrollando y perfeccionando, es una plataforma de IA para negocios. Lo que Watson ofrece es la capacidad de aprender habilidades como lenguaje, habla y razonamiento sin necesidad de incluir demasiados par\u00e1metros. Es como llevar un dispositivo inteligente completo a cualquier lado, sin ocupar tanto espacio. Reproduce las formas de pensar, actuar y decidir de los due\u00f1os que manejen este sistema, que busca emular el comportamiento humano con solamente calibrar datos en el ordenador. El tema central de estos sistemas y retomando los chatbots, dedicados al sector salud, es el tiempo de espera, pues m\u00faltiples encuestas han advertido que las respuestas y diagn\u00f3sticos no tardan m\u00e1s de dos minutos y eso hace que la gente prefiera descargar la App en su celular y desde la comodidad de su casa tener una cita m\u00e9dica. El \u00fanico factor en contra, es que la competencia crece entre las plataformas y las empresas, lo cual permite que existan diversas opciones, y complica diferenciar cu\u00e1l resulta m\u00e1s veraz y eficiente entre todas. Caracter\u00edstica importante de estas herramientas avanzadas es que trascienden fronteras, no miden barreras en cuesti\u00f3n de distancias. En M\u00e9xico est\u00e1 funcionando una hom\u00f3nima de Grace. Su nombre es Holly, un asistente virtual que env\u00eda un recordatorio a los pacientes cuando tienen que acudir a su cita m\u00e9dica a trav\u00e9s de un mensaje de texto, una llamada telef\u00f3nica o por medio de WhatsApp. Esta plataforma es desarrollada por el cofundado de Nimblr, Juan Vera, que con emprendimientos busca mejorar los servicios m\u00e9dicos. A\u00fan no es resuelto si la Inteligencia Artificial, por medio de los chatbots, es la respuesta para aminorar trabas en la relaci\u00f3n persona – cuidado, pero s\u00ed se ha logrado medir que producen casos de \u00e9xito en las consultas y diagn\u00f3stico. El proceso de evaluaci\u00f3n de tipo de respuesta y creaci\u00f3n de algoritmos tiene que seguirse muy de cerca por verdaderos Profesionales de la Salud para que, en esta etapa inicial, no se vayan a producir casos de diagn\u00f3sticos err\u00f3neos y se ponga en riesgo la salud de un paciente.
