For some years now, digital health service companies in the US have been offering online lab testing through more than 30 different kits, including fertility, metabolism, HIV, Hepatitis C, among others. The patient receives their collection kit, and sends their sample to be analyzed by specialists and then receive their results and consult them online.<\/p>

In this way, laboratory and digital health service companies began developing test kits for sampling from home, specifically for COVID-19.<\/p>

It was in April when the FDA authorized to a clinical laboratory company to market the first home sample collection tests for the COVID-1, using swabs, and then sent the sample for analysis. Self-collecting samples for COVID-19 follows a process similar to any other test of samples taken at home. After sample collection, it is sent to a lab. After being analyzed the patient can view their results online and receive recommendations for specific care. La FDA ha autorizado varios test de COVID-19 para tomar muestras de saliva desde casa, seguido de una consulta a distancia con profesionales de la salud. De esta forma, las compa\u00f1\u00edas de laboratorios y de servicios de salud digital comenzaron a desarrollar kits de prueba para la toma de muestras desde casa, espec\u00edficamente para COVID-19. Fue en abril cuando la FDA otorg\u00f3 permisos a una compa\u00f1\u00eda de laboratorios cl\u00ednicos para comercializar las primeras pruebas de recolecci\u00f3n de muestras desde el hogar para el test de COVID-19, utilizando hisopos, para despu\u00e9s enviarlos a su an\u00e1lisis. Sin embargo, un mes despu\u00e9s, nuevamente la FDA aprob\u00f3 el uso y comercializaci\u00f3n de pruebas recolectadas en casa de tres compa\u00f1\u00edas, las cuales utilizan herramientas y diferentes, como un dispositivo dise\u00f1ado especialmente para tomar muestras de saliva. La auto recolecci\u00f3n de muestras para COVID-19, sigue un proceso similar al de cualquier otra prueba de muestras tomadas en casa. Despu\u00e9s de la recolecci\u00f3n de la muestra, se env\u00eda a un laboratorio. Tras ser analizada el paciente puede ver sus resultados en l\u00ednea y recibe recomendaciones para cuidados espec\u00edficos. El costo de la prueba ronda los 150 de los cuales 50 corresponden al env\u00edo express de la muestra. \u201cLa autorizaci\u00f3n de pruebas de diagn\u00f3stico adicionales con la opci\u00f3n de recolecci\u00f3n de muestras en el hogar continuar\u00e1 aumentando el acceso del paciente a las pruebas de COVID-19.
