Costa Rica continues to reinvent its Digital Health systems as a Latin American reference in innovating its services to stay ahead in the ICT and digitalization development<\/p>

That is why it adds to its Unique Digital Health Record (EDUS)<\/strong>, the storage of a Digital Family Card<\/strong> carried out by the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The procedure focuses on using tablets or smartphones to record family information digitally, once service providers go directly to homes and immediately upload all the data needed to create a clinical record of households in the area.<\/p>

The written file process is saved and innovated. Currently, there is a secure copy of minutes that mark the number of members per family, risk of chronic or epidemiological diseases, among other factors in real time.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>This new digital system will rely on GPS to remember appointments, surgeries and treatments that each patient must take on according to their particular situation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

According to institutional data, so far, the CCSS has 40,000 georeferenced homes and 60,000 tokens have already been updated, thanks to the use of the family card tool.<\/p>

El Expediente Digital \u00danico en Salud ya opera en todo el pa\u00eds y tienen informaci\u00f3n del 95% de los ticos. Costa Rica sigue reinventando sus sistemas de Salud Digital como referente de Am\u00e9rica Latina en innovar sus servicios para mantenerse a la vanguardia que las TIC y el desarrollo de la digitalizaci\u00f3n demanda. Es por eso que le suma a su Expediente Digital \u00danico en Salud (EDUS), el almacenamiento de una Ficha Familiar Digital llevada a cabo por la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS). El procedimiento se centra en el uso de tablets o smartphones para registrar la informaci\u00f3n de las familias de manera digital, una vez que los prestadores de servicio acudan directamente a las casas y al momento suban a la nube todos los datos necesarios para crear un expediente cl\u00ednico de los hogares de la zona. Se ahorra e innova el proceso de la ficha escrita. Actualmente, se tiene una copia segura de minutas que marcan el n\u00famero de miembros por familia, riesgo de enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas o epidemiol\u00f3gicas, entre otros factores en tiempo real in situ.  Este nuevo sistema digital se basar\u00e1 en el GPS para recordar citas, cirug\u00edas y tratamientos que cada paciente debe asumir acorde a cada situaci\u00f3n particular. De acuerdo con datos institucionales, hasta el momento la CCSS tiene 40 mil viviendas georreferenciadas y 60 mil fichas ya se han actualizado, gracias al uso de la herramienta de la ficha familiar. Esta suma de esfuerzos viene a complementar el Expediente Cl\u00ednico Electr\u00f3nico que ya se ven\u00eda gestando desde hace tiempo con el compromiso de organizar de mejor manera los datos de los pacientes y sus necesidades en un entorno virtual y flexible.
