The COVID-19 Temporary Unit will start on Monday to offer its services and will have 234 beds and an intermediate therapy module with eight beds in the first stage. The final project will hold 854 beds and 36 intermediate therapy beds.<\/p>

The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, led in an event that also had the presence of Alejandro Sober\u00f3n Kuri, president of the Inter-American Entertainment Corporation (CIE) representing the 16 foundations that made donations for the realization of the project.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

It is a collaborative work between the private, academic initiative and the government of Mexico City to unite resources to address the current situation facing Mexico in the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>

The hospital will be operated by the Secretariat of Health of Mexico City and arrives at a critical time, after Mexico being decreed Phase 3 by COVID-19 this week and according to information from the Federal Health Secretariat, between 8 and 10 May is estimated the highest number of positive cases in the country.<\/p>

Additionally, the head of government recognized the foundations and companies involved in this project: \"This effort that these companies and foundations are making today is critical. On behalf of all the inhabitants of Mexico City, we thank them.\"<\/p>

El Centro Citibanamex ser\u00e1 habilitado temporalmente como unidad m\u00e9dica para tratamiento de pacientes con COVID-19. La Unidad Temporal COVID-19 comenzar\u00e1 el lunes a ofrecer sus servicios y contar\u00e1 en esta primera etapa con 234 camas y un m\u00f3dulo de terapia intermedia con ocho camas. Por otra parte, el presidente de CIE, afirm\u00f3 que el prestigio cient\u00edfico de la UNAM se ve reflejado en la habilitaci\u00f3n de esta unidad temporal, en espec\u00edfico las decisiones t\u00e9cnicas, m\u00e9dicas y hospitalarias que dieron como resultado el desarrollo del proyecto.
