As of today, Mexico City will have an additional 37,183 square meters of hospital care with the delivery, by 16 donor foundations and companies, of the COVID-19 Temporary Unit for patient care at the Center Citibanamex. The infrastructure that, based on technical analysis, gives rise to a total capacity for 854 hospital beds, 36 for intermediate therapy, as well as facilities for the proper functioning of the medical staff and the provision of specialized services, was formally received by the Secretariat of Health of the Government of the capital of the country.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In a ceremony led by the Head of Government<\/strong>, Claudia<\/strong> Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong>, the Carlos Slim, Telmex Telcel and Inbursa foundations<\/strong>, CIE, Walmart, Bimbo, Barcel, Fundaci\u00f3n Sertull, Citibanamex, Fundaci\u00f3n Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa, Coppel, Fundaci\u00f3n Coca Cola, Coca Cola FEMSA, CODERE, HSBC and Grupo Infra, represented by the president of CIE Alejandro Sober\u00f3n Kuri, indicated that they decided to add efforts in response to Dr. Sheinbaum's call. This to face the pandemic together, helping to expand the evaluation and treatment of people infected by the coronavirus. The Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong>, highlighted that the facilities of the Temporary COVID-19 Unit <\/strong>enabled at the Citibanamex Center, they represent the solidarity and joint work between the private initiative, academia and the Government of Mexico City to face the pandemic and guarantee the health of the inhabitants of the country's capital.<\/p>

\u201cWe are entering Phase 3 of the transmission of the Coronavirus, it is the moment when the greatest contagion is expected. We need much more of this hospital capacity to face what we believe may be the worst scenario in Mexico City and in the Metropolitan Area, and for this reason, this effort that these companies and foundations are making today is essential. So on behalf of all the inhabitants of Mexico City we thank you," he said.<\/p>

The president of the capital stressed that it is necessary for the population to maintain the preventive measures of Healthy Distance and Stay At Home, with the aim of preventing the spread of the disease. In addition, he said, there are currently 63 public hospitals in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico to care for patients with the disease, so it is necessary to expand hospital capacity during the Phase 3 period.<\/p>

For his part, the president of CIE, Alejandro Sober\u00f3n Kuri<\/strong> He affirmed that the authorization of the Temporary Unit reflects the sum of the best capacities of the country by combining: (1) the scientific prestige of UNAM in technical, medical and hospital decisions; (2) the collaboration of the National Institutes of Health in the development of the project; (3) the valuable accompaniment of the Ministry of Health of Mexico City and the deployment of its medical talent that will direct and operate the Unit; (4) the work of a significant number of collaborators from Mexican companies, who gave their best to get this Unit ready in less than 20 days; as well as (5) the commitment shown by the 16 donors by collecting the 700 million pesos to make the infrastructure a reality, half of which were contributed by the Carlos Slim, Telmex Telcel and Inbursa foundations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The director of the Faculty of Medicine of the<\/strong> UNAM, German Fajardo<\/strong> expressed that: \u201cthe National Autonomous University of Mexico, through the Faculty of Medicine, demonstrates once again the commitment and solidarity with the population and its needs, by joining and being part of this great effort of the Slim, CIE and Mexico City in the conceptualization, planning, start-up and operation of this hospital unit without precedent in the history of this country.\u201d<\/p>

With less than three weeks of work, the delivery of the first stage consists of 234 hospitalization beds<\/strong>no; an intermediate therapy module with 8 beds; rest, washing and eating areas for medical personnel; pharmacy, warehouses and instruments. This in order that, before the national declaration of Phase 3 and within the framework of the national strategy "All Together against COVID-19", the Ministry of Health of Mexico City can begin to operate the Temporary Unit in as much as you deem necessary. Likewise, the last phases of enabling the two remaining rooms are in progress to reach the total defined capacity. It is important to note that all personnel working in the Temporary Unit will have personal protection equipment for their safety.<\/p>

Along with the physical spaces for patient care, oxygenation tanks with a total capacity of 35,000 gallons were installed, more than 11,000 meters of copper piping to distribute it in the hospital wards, 17,800 meters of electrical wiring with 4 emergency, as well as food areas that will provide more than 730,400 services to patients and medical professionals, among other supplies that guarantee the best conditions in which medical professionals in Mexico City will perform.<\/p>

The experience obtained by the 16 donors in the authorization of the Temporary COVID-19 Unit<\/strong>, an initiative promoted by ICD<\/strong> (Inter-American Entertainment Corporation) and coordinated with Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> and UNAM,<\/strong> they make it available to other similar initiatives in process, in order to share best practices.<\/p>

A partir del d\u00eda de hoy, la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico contar\u00e1 con 37 mil 183 metros cuadrados adicionales de atenci\u00f3n hospitalaria con la entrega, por parte de 16 fundaciones y empresas donantes, de la Unidad Temporal COVID-19 para la atenci\u00f3n de pacientes en el Centro Citibanamex. La Infraestructura que, con base en an\u00e1lisis t\u00e9cnicos, da sede a una capacidad total para 854 camas de hospitalizaci\u00f3n, 36 de terapia intermedia, as\u00ed como instalaciones destinadas al adecuado funcionamiento del cuerpo m\u00e9dico y la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios especializados, fue formalmente recibida por la Secretar\u00eda de Salud del Gobierno de la capital del pa\u00eds. En un acto encabezado por la Jefa de Gobierno, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, las fundaciones Carlos Slim, Telmex Telcel e Inbursa, CIE, Walmart, Bimbo, Barcel, Fundaci\u00f3n Sertull, Citibanamex, Fundaci\u00f3n Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa, Coppel, Fundaci\u00f3n Coca Cola, Coca Cola FEMSA, CODERE, HSBC y Grupo Infra, representadas por el presidente de CIE Alejandro Sober\u00f3n Kuri, se\u00f1alaron que decidieron sumar esfuerzos en atenci\u00f3n al llamado de la doctora Sheinbaum. Esto para enfrentar unidos la pandemia, contribuyendo a ampliar la evaluaci\u00f3n y tratamiento de personas contagiadas por el coronavirus. Adem\u00e1s, expresaron su reconocimiento al trabajo heroico realizado por los profesionales de la salud en todo el pa\u00eds. La Jefa de Gobierno, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, destac\u00f3 que las instalaciones de la Unidad Temporal COVID-19 habilitadas en el Centro Citibanamex, representan la solidaridad y trabajo conjunto entre la iniciativa privada, academia y el Gobierno de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico para enfrentar la pandemia y garantizar la salud de los habitantes en la capital del pa\u00eds. \u201cEntramos a la Fase 3 de transmisi\u00f3n del Coronavirus, es el momento que se espera de mayores contagios. Necesitamos mucho m\u00e1s de esta capacidad hospitalaria para enfrentar, lo que consideramos, puede ser el peor escenario en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y en la Zona Metropolitana, y por eso, este esfuerzo que hoy hacen estas empresas, fundaciones es fundamental. As\u00ed que a nombre de todos los habitantes de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico les damos las gracias\u201d, expres\u00f3. La mandataria capitalina recalc\u00f3 que es necesario que la poblaci\u00f3n mantenga las medidas preventivas de Sana Distancia y Qu\u00e9date En Casa, con el objetivo de evitar que se propague la enfermedad. Adem\u00e1s, dijo, actualmente se cuentan con 63 hospitales p\u00fablicos en la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de M\u00e9xico para atender a pacientes con la enfermedad, por lo que es necesario ampliar la capacidad hospitalaria durante el periodo de la Fase 3. Por su parte, el presidente de CIE, Alejandro Sober\u00f3n Kuri afirm\u00f3 que la habilitaci\u00f3n de la Unidad Temporal refleja la suma de las mejores capacidades del pa\u00eds al conjuntar: (1) el prestigio cient\u00edfico de la UNAM en las decisiones t\u00e9cnicas, m\u00e9dicas y hospitalarias; (2) la colaboraci\u00f3n de los Institutos Nacionales de Salud en el desarrollo del proyecto; (3) el valioso acompa\u00f1amiento de la Secretar\u00eda de Salud de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y el despliegue de su talento m\u00e9dico que dirigir\u00e1 y operar\u00e1 la Unidad; (4) el trabajo de un n\u00famero importante de colaboradores de empresas mexicanas, que dieron lo mejor de s\u00ed para lograr que esta Unidad estuviera lista en menos de 20 d\u00edas; as\u00ed como (5) el compromiso mostrado por las 16 donantes al recolectar los 700 millones de pesos para hacer la infraestructura realidad, mitad de los cuales fueron aportados por las fundaciones Carlos Slim, Telmex Telcel e Inbursa. El director de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM, Germ\u00e1n Fajardo expres\u00f3 que: \u201cla Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico, a trav\u00e9s de la Facultad de Medicina, demuestra una vez m\u00e1s el compromiso y solidaridad con la poblaci\u00f3n y sus necesidades, al sumarse y ser parte de este gran esfuerzo de las fundaciones Slim, CIE y la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico en la conceptualizaci\u00f3n, planeaci\u00f3n, puesta en marcha y operaci\u00f3n de esta unidad hospitalaria sin precedente en la historia de este pa\u00eds.\u201d Con menos de tres semanas de trabajo, la entrega de la primera etapa consta de 234 camas de hospitalizaci\u00f3n; un m\u00f3dulo de terapia intermedia con 8 camas; zonas de descanso, lavado y alimentaci\u00f3n para el personal m\u00e9dico; farmacia, almacenes e instrumental. Esto con el fin de que, ante la declaratoria nacional de la Fase 3 y en el marco de la estrategia nacional \u201cTodos Juntos contra el COVID-19\u201d, la Secretar\u00eda de Salud de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico pueda comenzar a operar la Unidad Temporal en cuanto lo considere necesario. Asimismo, se est\u00e1 en las \u00faltimas fases de habilitaci\u00f3n de las dos salas restantes para alcanzar el total de la capacidad definida. Es importante destacar que todo el personal que labore en la Unidad Temporal contar\u00e1 con los equipos de protecci\u00f3n personal para su seguridad. A la par de los espacios f\u00edsicos para la atenci\u00f3n de pacientes, se instalaron tanques de oxigenaci\u00f3n con una capacidad total de 35,000 galones, m\u00e1s de 11,000 metros de tuber\u00eda de cobre para distribuirlo en las salas hospitalarias, 17,800 metros de cableado el\u00e9ctrico con 4 plantas de emergencia, as\u00ed como \u00e1reas de alimentos que prestar\u00e1n m\u00e1s de 730,400 servicios a pacientes y profesionales m\u00e9dicos, entre otros insumos que garantizan las mejores condiciones en las cuales se desempe\u00f1ar\u00e1n los profesionales m\u00e9dicos de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico. La experiencia obtenida por las 16 donantes en la habilitaci\u00f3n de la Unidad Temporal COVID-19, iniciativa impulsada por CIE (Corporaci\u00f3n Interamericana de Entretenimiento) y coordinada con Fundaci\u00f3n Carlos Slim y la UNAM, la ponen a disposici\u00f3n de otras iniciativas similares en proceso, con el fin de compartir las mejores pr\u00e1cticas.
