The project is part of the Digital Agenda 2020-2030 that considers the implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El Salvador launched a Digital Agenda consisting of concrete actions in different axes in order to unify citizens for the country development through the innovation and application of ICT.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The EHR project is considered within the Digital Identity axis in the Person category and is defined as \"the design, creation and implementation of the EHR, integrated into the Citizen Record, which allows the exchange and secure consultation of information between all authorized public and private health centers\", according to the document posted by the Innovation Secretariat.<\/p>

The EHR is expected to begin its first applications later this year or early next year. On the other hand, the Digital Agenda includes connecting the 14 departments capitals\u2019, including connection in hospitals and clinics.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fabrizio Mena, undersecretary of innovation noted that \"what we want, is an integration of health services so that the patients or citizens, no matter if they go to Social Security, whether they go to a public hospital or even a private clinic in the future, can pass and no longer have to be repeating over and over what your allergies are, what your conditions are.\"<\/p>

In this way, doctors would consult their patients' information and apply appropriate treatment regardless of whether the user was treated by another clinic or doctor previously.<\/p>

The initiative is also supported by the Ministry of Health (MINSAL) and the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS). El proyecto forma parte de la Agenda Digital 2020-2030 que considera la implementaci\u00f3n del Registro de Salud Electr\u00f3nico. El Salvador lanz\u00f3 una Agenda Digital que consta de acciones concretas en diferentes ejes y que buscan integrar a los ciudadanos para el desarrollo del pa\u00eds a trav\u00e9s de innovaci\u00f3n y aplicaci\u00f3n de las TIC. El proyecto del Registro de Salud Electr\u00f3nico est\u00e1 considerado dentro del eje de Identidad Digital en la categor\u00eda Persona y es definido como \u201cel dise\u00f1o, la creaci\u00f3n y la implementaci\u00f3n del Registro de Salud Electr\u00f3nica (EHR por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), integrado al Expediente Ciudadano, que permita el intercambio y la consulta segura de informaci\u00f3n entre todos los centros de salud p\u00fablicos y privados autorizados\u201d, seg\u00fan el documento publicado por la Secretar\u00eda de Innovaci\u00f3n. Se espera que el EHR comience sus primeras aplicaciones a finales de este a\u00f1o o a principios del pr\u00f3ximo. Por otra parte, la Agenda Digital incluye conectar las capitales de los 14 departamentos del pa\u00eds, incluyendo conexi\u00f3n en hospitales y cl\u00ednicas. Fabrizio Mena, subsecretario de innovaci\u00f3n se\u00f1al\u00f3 que “lo que queremos, es una integraci\u00f3n de los servicios de salud para que el paciente o ciudadano, no importando si vaya al Seguro Social, si va a un hospital p\u00fablica o hasta una cl\u00ednica privada a futuro, pueda pasar consulta y ya no tenga que estar repitiendo una y otra vez cu\u00e1les son sus alergias, cu\u00e1les son sus padecimientos\u201d. De esta forma, los m\u00e9dicos consultar\u00edan la informaci\u00f3n de sus pacientes y apliquen el tratamiento adecuado sin importar si el usuario fue atendido por otra cl\u00ednica anteriormente. La iniciativa cuenta tambi\u00e9n con el respaldo del Ministerio de Salud (MINSAL) y el Instituto Salvadore\u00f1o del Seguro Social (ISSS).
