En estricto sentido, dentro de la rama de la medicina, la salud digital ha ganado terreno en todo el mundo para convertirse en una pr\u00e1ctica recurrente e indispensable en cada hospital y centro de salud. Las discusiones que se\u00f1alan a las TIC como herramientas adoptadas en el ejercicio de la salud, encuentran su foco en cuestiones de \u00e9tica y de sustituci\u00f3n. Y es que la cuesti\u00f3n que se queda flotando es \u00bfpodr\u00e1n las m\u00e1quinas reemplazar y superar las habilidades del ser humano? M\u00e1s que una pregunta subjetiva, la cuesti\u00f3n retoma un punto importante dentro de la salud digital que es, la Inteligencia Artificial (IA). Este concepto se sostiene dentro de la inform\u00e1tica, donde con base en algoritmos programados en las plataformas digitales, se logra que los dispositivos adquieran autonom\u00eda en las acciones y decisiones que toman gui\u00e1ndose por patrones almacenados en ellas; b\u00e1sicamente, buscan igualar al ser humano para reducir tiempos y esfuerzo. As\u00ed pues, la IA puede hacerse cargo del an\u00e1lisis de los datos de cada paciente para contrastar el diagn\u00f3stico, identificar patrones sobre el uso de los tratamientos, estudiar con gran velocidad una amplia base de datos para conocer el comportamiento de las enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas por perfiles de pacientes, desarrollar el concepto de la medicina personalizada. Con IA tambi\u00e9n se pueden visualizar las tendencias en la propagaci\u00f3n de virus con indicadores predictivos, son \u00e9stos algunos ejemplos de los beneficios que se pueden obtener con su uso en el sector salud. Dependiendo de la especialidad \u2013como radiolog\u00eda, dermatolog\u00eda, oftalmolog\u00eda, oncolog\u00eda, medicina forense, etc.\u2013 las interacciones con la Big Data determinar\u00e1n la eficiencia de los resultados. As\u00ed, por ejemplo, un software podr\u00e1 ser capaz de detectar indicios de c\u00e1ncer de piel analizando s\u00f3lo los ojos, o un dispositivo podr\u00e1 realizar alguna cirug\u00eda sin la intervenci\u00f3n del personal m\u00e9dico. El meollo de estas nuevas situaciones indica que las nuevas tecnolog\u00edas de la salud digital, m\u00e1s que sustituir a las personas, se convertir\u00e1n en la mano derecha de los m\u00e9dicos para evitar m\u00e1rgenes de error en los procesos.
