Latin America generates the space available for Digital Health to revolutionize the branch of medicine and ensure the interests of patients and doctors. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) opened a new chapter to connect the ICT ecosystem with a tool designed to manage and use medical data in order to boost the development of public health.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The health information systems (IS4H), were renewed to improve the quality of their operation and ability to store structured data so that they complement each other, this with the aim of optimizing public health services.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Pan American Health Organization<\/strong> was in charge of activating this strategy, it consists in innovating, within Latin America, regarding the management of its digital platforms, information exchange and Digital Health.<\/p>

The governments of Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Suriname, Ecuador, Cuba, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, United States, Costa Rica, Brazil, Guyana, United Kingdom \/ British Virgin Islands, Canada, Honduras, Jamaica, Uruguay and Puerto Rico will respect the guidelines that this plan indicates. And in this way, develop a tool that operates in an interconnected and interoperable way between the various systems of the health centers so that they can obtain and access the information stored anywhere, protecting user data.<\/p>

This will expand the benefits that new technologies bring. The way to manage data reliably, protected, available at any time and in the necessary format. They can be used as evidence for decision making, formulation, monitoring and evaluation of public policies, aimed at generating technological alternatives for the exercise of health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

To ensure the validity and operation of this strategy, the evaluation method called IS4H-MM will be implemented with the objective of measuring the maturity and progress of the system considering its organizational capacity related to governance, data management, digital transformation, innovation and knowledge management.<\/p>

Its core concepts will result in the improvement of practices recognizing the data that is stored and integrating the necessary decisions to deploy each element of the Action Plan to strengthen Health Information Systems 2019-2023.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Am\u00e9rica Latina genera el espacio disponible para que la Salud Digital revolucione la rama de la medicina y vele por los intereses de pacientes y m\u00e9dicos. La Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) abri\u00f3 un nuevo cap\u00edtulo para conectar el ecosistema de las TIC con una herramienta dise\u00f1ada para administrar y utilizar los datos m\u00e9dicos con el objetivo de impulsar el desarrollo de la salud p\u00fablica. Los sistemas de informaci\u00f3n para la salud (IS4H, por su sigla en ingl\u00e9s), fueron renovados para mejorar la calidad de su funcionamiento y capacidad para almacenar datos estructurados de manera que se complementen, esto con el objetivo de optimizar los servicios de salud p\u00fablica. La Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud fue la encargada de activar esta estrategia, consiste en innovar, dentro de Am\u00e9rica Latina, respecto al manejo de sus plataformas digitales, intercambio de informaci\u00f3n y Salud Digital. Los gobiernos de M\u00e9xico, Argentina, Per\u00fa, Surinam, Ecuador, Cuba, Paraguay, Rep\u00fablica Dominicana, Estados Unidos, Costa Rica, Brasil, Guyana, Reino Unido \/ Islas V\u00edrgenes Brit\u00e1nicas, Canad\u00e1, Honduras, Jamaica, Uruguay y Puerto Rico, respetar\u00e1n los lineamientos que este plan se\u00f1ala. Y de esta forma, desarrollar una herramienta que opere de manera interconectada e interoperable entre los diversos sistemas de los centros de salud para que puedan obtener y acceder a la informaci\u00f3n almacenada en cualquier lugar, protegiendo los datos de los usuarios. Esto expandir\u00e1 los beneficios que las nuevas tecnolog\u00edas aportan. La forma de gestionar datos de manera confiable, protegidos, disponibles en cualquier momento y en el formato necesario. Se pueden utilizar como evidencia para la toma de decisiones, la formulaci\u00f3n, el monitoreo y la evaluaci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas, encaminadas a engendrar alternativas tecnol\u00f3gicas para el ejercicio de la salud. Para asegurar la validez y funcionamiento de esta estrategia se implementar\u00e1 el m\u00e9todo de evaluaci\u00f3n llamado IS4H-MM con el objetivo de medir la madurez y progreso del sistema considerando su capacidad organizativa relacionada con la gobernabilidad, la gesti\u00f3n de datos, la transformaci\u00f3n digital, la innovaci\u00f3n y la gesti\u00f3n del conocimiento.
