Latin America will join the discussions that arise from this initiative, and will most likely hace an impact in security and protection of personal data around the health world. El intercambio de informaci\u00f3n relacionada a la condici\u00f3n m\u00e9dica de las personas es complejo y requiere garantizar est\u00e1ndares altos de seguridad, por lo que se inicia la implementaci\u00f3n de una tecnolog\u00eda que garantice estos requerimientos. Uno de los procesos menos estandarizados en el sector salud es la recopilaci\u00f3n, limpieza y curadur\u00eda de informaci\u00f3n del estado de salud de un paciente. Con frecuencia los datos de salud de un paciente son usados de manera incorrecta o simplemente expuestos a la comunidad en general, lo cual ha propiciado una reticencia de una parte de la poblaci\u00f3n a compartir su informaci\u00f3n. Los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos permiten un intercambio seguro de informaci\u00f3n de los pacientes. Tener un registro universal del usuario, donde en un solo sitio se pueda consultar su estado actual de salud y otros datos, como alergias, malestares, condiciones o incluso s\u00edntomas, puede ayudar a un m\u00e9dico en cualquier parte del mundo a tratar a dicho paciente de una manera m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida, objetiva y con mejores resultados, as\u00ed como evitar tener que realizar pruebas duplicadas. Esto podr\u00eda tener beneficios extraordinarios, pues al acabar con la fragmentaci\u00f3n de los datos, se pueden implementar las herramientas necesarias para tratar cualquier situaci\u00f3n de manera individual y a la medida. Es as\u00ed que distintas instituciones se han dado a la tarea de proponer diversas iniciativas que promuevan el intercambio de manera eficiente y que cumpla con estrictos par\u00e1metros de privacidad. El Instituto Nacional de C\u00e1ncer de Estados Unidos es una de estas organizaciones que propone un sistema basado en blockchain (o cadena de bloques) con el objetivo de mejorar la protecci\u00f3n de la privacidad de los pacientes, mantener la flexibilidad entre ellos y las Instituciones, as\u00ed como hacer cumplir la soberan\u00eda de los datos de cada usuario. Lo m\u00e1s importante es agilizar el flujo de trabajo con el diagn\u00f3stico por im\u00e1genes, ya que la facilidad para navegar por diversos detalles que no se identificar\u00edan a simple vista da la apertura de gestionar y evaluar los resultados con la ayuda de la Inteligencia Artificial y el Machine Learning (una rama de \u00e9sta). Con el apoyo del Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, el programa podr\u00e1 administrar de forma muy precisa toda la informaci\u00f3n almacenada. Lo que b\u00e1sicamente hace una cadena de bloques es enlazar los elementos de tal manera que no queden a merced en un solo espacio, protegiendo as\u00ed la confidencialidad de la informaci\u00f3n ah\u00ed resguardada. Am\u00e9rica Latina se sumar\u00e1 a las discusiones que surjan de esta iniciativa, y muy seguramente tendr\u00e1 un impacto en la seguridad y protecci\u00f3n de datos personales en el mundo de la salud.
