The first remote ultrasonography in Chile has been performed in an effort to position the country as a leader in the use of technologies to improve equitable access to health services.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In a pioneering exercise in Chile, a doctor performed a remote ultrasound using a wireless control, which allowed him develop the examination and direct the movements of the device thanks to 5G technology. On the other side, there was a pregnant patient accompanied by a paramedic holding a sensorized glove.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This is one of the first examples in Latin America where a health professional provides services breaking the barriers of distance, and can be in contact with a patient without anyone having to move from their location.<\/p>

This is how health experts will be able to attend cases throughout the country and patients will benefit from better consults that optimize costs, time and resources.<\/p>

5G technology is the fifth generation of mobile internet connectivity, characterized by being a high-speed network, with great data transmission capacity and greater connectivity. In Chile, the future of this technology \u201cmust work to improve, in an important way, the equity of access to diagnostic services, quality treatment, telepathology, teleradiology, clinical meetings, and everything that could mean an improvement in the health of people, especially the most delayed\u201d, said Health Minister Jaime Ma\u00f1alich.<\/p>

The capacity of the 5G network is up to 100 times greater than 4G, which is currently used in most countries. In addition, the latency, understood as the time it takes to transmit a packet of data, will be much less, promising a maximum latency of 4 milliseconds. In this way, it will be possible to download medical tutorials in seconds and work with streaming, or telemedicine services, immediately. The Chilean Ministry of Health has placed its trust in this new development to achieve a significant closure in the health gap that exists in the country and in that way give an example of how Digital Health can transform a nation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Realizan la primera ultrasonograf\u00eda a distancia en Chile, en un esfuerzo por posicionar al pa\u00eds como l\u00edder en el uso de tecnolog\u00edas para mejorar el acceso equitativo a servicios de salud. En un ejercicio pionero en su tipo en Chile, un m\u00e9dico realiz\u00f3 un ultrasonido a distancia mediante un control de mando inal\u00e1mbrico, que permiti\u00f3 realizar el examen y dirigir los movimientos del dispositivo, gracias a la tecnolog\u00eda 5G. Del otro lado, se encontraba una paciente embarazada acompa\u00f1ada de un param\u00e9dico que sosten\u00eda un guante sensorizado. Este es uno de los primeros ejemplos en Latinoam\u00e9rica en donde un profesional de la salud brinda servicios, rompiendo las barreras de la distancia, y puede estar en contacto con una paciente sin que ninguno tenga que trasladarse. Es as\u00ed como grandes especialistas podr\u00e1n atender casos a lo largo y ancho del pa\u00eds y los pacientes se beneficiar\u00e1n de mejores servicios optimizando costos, tiempos y recursos. La tecnolog\u00eda 5G es la quinta generaci\u00f3n de conectividad de internet m\u00f3vil, se caracteriza por ser una red de alta velocidad, con una gran capacidad de transmisi\u00f3n de datos y mayor conectividad. En Chile, el futuro de esta tecnolog\u00eda \u201cdebe funcionar para mejorar, de manera importante, la equidad de acceso a servicios diagn\u00f3sticos, a tratamiento de calidad, telepatolog\u00eda, teleradiolog\u00eda, reuniones cl\u00ednicas, y todo lo que pueda significar una mejor\u00eda en la salud de las personas, sobre todo de las m\u00e1s postergadas\u201d, afirm\u00f3 el Ministro de Salud, Jaime Ma\u00f1alich. La capacidad de la red 5G es hasta 100 veces mayor a la 4G, la cual se usa actualmente en la mayor\u00eda de los pa\u00edses. Adem\u00e1s, la latencia, entendido como el tiempo que tarda la transmisi\u00f3n de un paquete de datos, ser\u00e1 mucho menor, prometiendo una latencia m\u00e1xima de 4 milisegundos. De esta manera, ser\u00e1 posible descargar tutoriales m\u00e9dicos en segundos y trabajar con servicios de streaming, o de telemedicina como el aqu\u00ed expuesto, de manera inmediata. El Ministerio de Salud Chileno ha depositado su confianza en este nuevo avance para lograr un cierre importante en la brecha de salud que existe en el pa\u00eds y de esa manera poner un ejemplo de c\u00f3mo la Salud Digital puede transformar un pa\u00eds.
