The Ministry of Health of the province of Mendoza presented the Teleneurology Network that will become part of its Telemedicine Network. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The province of Mendoza has a network of telehealth services that includes specialties such as cardiology<\/a> and dermatology. These types of modalities allow the care of more patients in medical specialties that are not usually available in all hospitals.<\/p>

On this occasion, the province's Ministry of Health, Social Development and Sports added the Neurology area to the Telemedicine Network, with the aim of connecting the province's hospitals and improving medical care. Initially, this network will connect the Luis Lagomaggiore Hospital with the Malarg\u00fce Regional Hospital.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Minister of Health, Ana Mar\u00eda Nadal, explained that the Teleneurology Network is implemented within the framework of the implementation of health systems and telehealth networks. \u201cThis Teleneurology network means a connection between the Lagomaggiore and Malarg\u00fce hospitals. It allows that, in Malarg\u00fce, where there are no neurologists in the hospital, when a patient arrives with symptoms of cerebrovascular accident (CVA)\u201d, he explained.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In other words, this network facilitates real-time evaluation in synchronous consultations performed by neurologists, specifically in the first hour of the consultation where care must be effective. In this way, the network pursues the same objectives as the telecardio network, which is to avoid traveling long distances to patients and provide faster care.<\/p>

It is important to continue advancing technological tools in the provision of services, especially those that connect specialized hospitals with health centers in remote places. In Mendoza, the telehealth network began in 2017, however, during the pandemic this type of service and care models have increased in use and adoption by the actors involved.<\/p>

For her part, the director of the Malarg\u00fce Regional Hospital, Yolanda Carabajal, highlighted the importance of implementing these services: \u201cBeing able to incorporate this service for Malarg\u00fce residents gratifies us and fills us with pride. If a person with a suspected stroke arrived, they were immediately transferred to San Rafael. El Ministerio de Salud de la provincia de Mendoza present\u00f3 la Red de Teleneurolog\u00eda que pasar\u00e1 a formar parte de su Red de Telemedicina. La provincia de Mendoza cuenta con una red de servicios de telesalud que incluye especialidades como cardiolog\u00eda y dermatolog\u00eda. Este tipo de modalidades permiten la atenci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s pacientes en especialidades m\u00e9dicas que no suelen estar disponibles en todos los hospitales. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, el Ministerio de Salud, Desarrollo Social y Deportes de la provincia a\u00f1adi\u00f3 a la Red de Telemedicina el \u00e1rea de Neurolog\u00eda, con el objetivo de conectar los hospitales de la provincia y mejorar la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. De manera inicial esta red conectar\u00e1 al Hospital Luis Lagomaggiore con el Hospital Regional de Malarg\u00fce. La ministra de Salud, Ana Mar\u00eda Nadal, explic\u00f3 que la Red de Teleneurolog\u00eda se implementa en el marco de la implementaci\u00f3n de sistemas de salud y redes de telesalud. \u201cEsta red de Teleneurolog\u00eda significa una conexi\u00f3n entre los hospitales Lagomaggiore y Malarg\u00fce. Permite que, en Malarg\u00fce, donde no hay neur\u00f3logos en el hospital, cuando llega un paciente con s\u00edntomas de accidente cerebrovascular (ACV)\u201d, explic\u00f3. Es importante continuar el avance de herramientas tecnol\u00f3gicas en la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios, especialmente que conectan hospitales especializados con centros de salud en lugares alejados. En Mendoza la red de telesalud comenz\u00f3 desde 2017, sin embargo, durante la pandemia este tipo de servicios y modelos de atenci\u00f3n han aumentado en uso y adopci\u00f3n por parte de los actores involucrados. Por su parte, la directora del Hospital Regional de Malarg\u00fce, Yolanda Carabajal, resalt\u00f3 la importancia de la implementaci\u00f3n de estos servicios: \u201cEl poder incorporar este servicio para los malarg\u00fcinos nos gratifica y nos llena de orgullo. Si llegaba una persona con sospecha de ACV, era trasladada de inmediato a San Rafael.
