Specialists from the National Rehabilitation Institute (INR) will carry out remote diagnoses to bring this type of service closer to remote or difficult-to-access areas.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The INR is developing a telerehabilitation program so that patients receive physical and occupational therapy services without the need for long transfers to medical units. This strategy seeks equitable access to rehabilitation services, especially for people who do not have the resources to pay for transfers to medical centers, because they live in remote locations.<\/p>

Patients go through a protocol to determine their eligibility for the telerehabilitation program. These actions will be carried out by the INR Physical Therapy Service. The coordinator of the program, Claudia Pescina Oc\u00e1diz, explained that the program will start in September of this year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Through technological devices, INR specialists and therapists will evaluate and review the progress of patients remotely, while continuing to collaborate with specialists who care for patients in person in their locality.<\/p>

The program will have audiovisual support material such as video tutorials on physical and occupational therapy. The first videos will be focused on physical therapy for people with neurological sequelae. \u201cIt was decided to start with the rehabilitation of these people, since their recovery requires long periods of time and it is a factor for which they abandon treatment\u201d, explained Pescina Oc\u00e1diz.<\/p>

The director of this program also explained that between 2020 and 2021, the INR has performed more than 108,000 physical and pulmonary therapies and more than 50,000 occupational therapy sessions. Especialistas del Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitaci\u00f3n (INR) realizar\u00e1n diagn\u00f3sticos a distancia para acercar este tipo de servicios a zonas remotas o de dif\u00edcil acceso. El INR se encuentra desarrollando un programa de telerrehabilitaci\u00f3n, para que pacientes reciban servicios de terapia f\u00edsica y ocupacional sin necesidad de largos traslados a unidades m\u00e9dicas. Esta estrategia busca un acceso equitativo a servicios de rehabilitaci\u00f3n, especialmente para las personas que no tienen los recursos para pagar traslados a centros m\u00e9dicos, porque viven en localidades remotas. Los pacientes pasan por un protocolo para determinar su elegibilidad al programa de telerrehabilitaci\u00f3n. Estas acciones ser\u00e1n llevadas a cabo por el Servicio de Terapia F\u00edsica del INR. Por medio de dispositivos tecnol\u00f3gicos los especialistas y terapeutas del INR evaluar\u00e1n y revisar\u00e1n el avance de los pacientes de forma remota, sin dejar de colaborar con los especialistas que atienden a los pacientes de forma presencial en su la localidad. El programa contar\u00e1 con material audiovisual de apoyo como video tutoriales sobre la terapia f\u00edsica y ocupacional. Los primeros videos estar\u00e1n enfocados en la terapia f\u00edsica para personas con secuelas neurol\u00f3gicas. \u201cSe decidi\u00f3 iniciar con la rehabilitaci\u00f3n de estas personas, ya que su recuperaci\u00f3n requiere largos periodos de tiempo y es un factor por el que abandonan el tratamiento\u201d, explic\u00f3 Pescina Oc\u00e1diz. La directora de este programa tambi\u00e9n explic\u00f3 que entre 2020 y 2021, el INR ha realizado m\u00e1s de 108 mil terapias f\u00edsicas y pulmonares y m\u00e1s de 50 mil sesiones de terapia ocupacional.
