In addition, through mobile devices it is possible to monitor the progress of patients.<\/p><p>One of the most important challenges of clinical trials in general is that the right patients manage to find, participate and complete it. AI has the potential to improve the various stages of a clinical trial from patients searching for a trial to monitoring treatment adherence.<\/p><p>Through the use of natural language processing, it is possible to extract relevant information from the electronic medical records of patients and thus determine their eligibility for a specific trial. This law promotes the analysis of medical data as long as the data exchange is allowed by the patient and above all it emphasizes the importance of data interoperability between hospitals.<\/p><p>On the other hand, it has also highlighted the use of AI-based software for patient monitoring through mobile devices. They are also used by mobile apps to interpret data collected by the same devices.<\/p><p>Simulated patient data has even been generated by means of AI, to carry out other types of studies to detect diseases and treatments.<\/p><p>In this way, AI applied in trials and clinical research offers researchers new opportunities, not only in resource management but also in key aspects of understanding diseases, new drugs and complications. Mediante el uso de procesamiento de lenguaje natural, es posible extraer informaci\u00f3n relevante de los registros m\u00e9dicos electr\u00f3nicos de los pacientes y as\u00ed determinar su elegibilidad para un ensayo en espec\u00edfico. Esta es una de las aplicaciones m\u00e1s comunes de la IA en los procesos de ensayos cl\u00ednicos. Asimismo, por medio de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico, es posible que un sistema de IA analiza im\u00e1genes de laboratorio para encontrar datos relevantes que tambi\u00e9n logren determinar la elegibilidad y participaci\u00f3n de un paciente en un ensayo. Estados Unidos cuenta con una ley que protege el intercambio de datos de salud, Health Ins\u00farjanse Portability and Accountability Act o HIPAA. Esta ley promueve en an\u00e1lisis de datos m\u00e9dicos mientras el intercambio de datos sea permitido por el paciente y sobre todo enfatiza la importancia de la interoperabilidad de datos entre hospitales. Por otra parte, tambi\u00e9n ha destacado el uso de software basado en IA para el monitoreo de pacientes por medio de dispositivos m\u00f3viles. Tambi\u00e9n sean utilizado de apps m\u00f3viles para interpretar datos recolectados por los mismos dispositivos. Incluso por medio de IA se han generado datos simulados de pacientes, para realizar otro tipo de estudios para detecci\u00f3n de enfermedades y tratamientos. De esta forma la IA aplicada en ensayos e investigaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica brinda nuevas oportunidades a los investigadores, no solo en la gesti\u00f3n de recursos sino en aspectos claves del conocimiento de enfermedades, nuevos medicamentos y complicaciones. &nbsp;Por ejemplo, Mendel.ai, una compa\u00f1\u00eda dedicada a la IA en ensayos cl\u00ednicos, cre\u00f3 un motor de b\u00fasqueda sobre COVID-19, para que investigadores puedan recolectar datos para realizar sus propias investigaciones.
