The Latin American Center for Perinatology (CLAP) of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) gave a virtual seminar on the SIP Plus platform for monitoring congenital syphilis.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to PAHO and CLAP, the Unit for HIV, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (HT\/CDE) and Women's and Reproductive Health (SMR) also participated. The objective of the seminar was to share experiences using the SIP Plus software for the monitoring and elimination of congenital syphilis in the region.<\/p>

For several years, various health organizations in the region have incorporated various tools for the elimination of congenital syphilis. One of these tools is SIP Plus, about which CLAP panelist Luis Mainero explained its functions and its potential for real-time monitoring of the disease and its possible link with various databases.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The SIP or Perinatology Computer System is a software for the registration of perinatal care from the first visit to the specialist. SIP Plus has tools for gynecology, obstetrics and neonatology services. Likewise, the SIP favors epidemiological research, facilitates communication between different levels of care, and serves as a database for planning medical care.<\/p>

During the seminar, experiences were presented that addressed the importance of using the SIP Plus to analyze various health indicators, for example, officials from Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago, countries that have successfully implemented the system, were presented.<\/p>

Finally they made the invitation for the next virtual course on the elimination of congenital syphilis aimed at professionals at the first level of care, which will take place in August.<\/p>

El Centro Latinoamericano de Perinatolog\u00eda (CLAP) de la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) imparti\u00f3 un seminario virtual sobre la plataforma SIP Plus para el monitoreo de s\u00edfilis cong\u00e9nita. Adem\u00e1s de la OPS y el CLAP, tambi\u00e9n participaron la Unidad de VIH, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis e Infecciones de Transmisi\u00f3n Sexual (HT\/CDE) y Salud de la Mujer y Reproductiva (SMR). El objetivo del seminario fue compartir experiencias utilizando el software SIP Plus para el monitoreo y la eliminaci\u00f3n de la s\u00edfilis cong\u00e9nita en la regi\u00f3n. Una de esas herramientas es SIP Plus, sobre la cual el panelista del CLAP Luis Mainero, explic\u00f3 sus funciones y su potencial para el monitoreo en tiempo real de la enfermedad y su posible vinculaci\u00f3n con diversas bases de datos. El SIP o Sistema Inform\u00e1tico de Perinatolog\u00eda, es un software para el registro de la atenci\u00f3n perinatal desde la primera visita al especialista. SIP Plus cuenta con herramientas de servicios de ginecolog\u00eda, obstetricia y neonatolog\u00eda. Asimismo, el SIP favorece la investigaci\u00f3n epidemiol\u00f3gica, facilita la comunicaci\u00f3n entre diferentes niveles de atenci\u00f3n, y sirve como base de datos para la planificaci\u00f3n de la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Durante el seminario se presentaron experiencias que abordaron la importancia del uso del SIP Plus para analizar diversos indicadores de salud, por ejemplo, se presentaron funcionarios de Paraguay y Trinidad y Tobago pa\u00edses que han implementado el sistema con \u00e9xito.
