The event was held on July 11 and had as its theme "Interoperability and the Agenda for Digital Transformation in Health in Bogot\u00e1 and Colombia." <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The face-to-face event was organized by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (Minsalud) and the Bogot\u00e1 Chamber of Commerce. The event addressed the progress of the Digital Health Agenda of Colombia<\/a> and its extension throughout the territory.<\/p>

Likewise, the event included topics such as health care through telemedicine, electronic medical records, Artificial Intelligence in health, personalization of diagnoses and treatments, and remote care.<\/p>

The event was attended by Fernando Ruiz G\u00f3mez, head of the Ministry of Health, who presented Colombia's most recent achievements in Digital Health, as well as the pending challenges. \u201cOur system has an important limitation, it is fragmented and there is no talk between the institutions, the organizations; for that reason, the most important challenge is digital transformation\u201d, he explained.<\/p>

In this way, the minister recognized that the first step is to recognize Digital Health as the field of knowledge that will develop the use of technology to improve the health system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

He also recognized the progress made in the field during the pandemic, especially in telehealth and genomics. Telehealth in Colombia grew exponentially in this period, while before the pandemic the health services provided one million visits per month, during the health emergency there were months with up to 10 million monthly visits.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Regarding genomics, he explained that two years and four months after the start of the pandemic, Colombia has a network of 22 genomics laboratories where traceability tasks of the COVID-19 variants are carried out.<\/p>

The progress of Digital Health and interoperability in Colombia is also related to regulatory advances, such as Law 1955, Law 2015 and Resolution 866, which have promoted and regulated the use of telemedicine in the country. In this way, thanks to these regulations, telemedicine reaches 370 municipalities in Colombia.<\/p>

Another of the strategies that are part of the Digital Health Agenda is the roadmap that details the importance of health data analytical units, and the strengthening of digital health portals and platforms. "We are going to leave a technological platform for piloting, technical guides, preparation process of the territorial entities, Cundinamarca interoperability test, the Colombian cloud", explained the minister.<\/p>

These strategies seek to make interoperability a reality in Colombia, and to connect more than 10,000 public and private health institutions. In fact, on July 19, the first \u201cconnectat\u00f3n\u201d will be held, with the participation of five territorial entities and 100 institutions that provide health services (IPS).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El evento se realiz\u00f3 el 11 de julio y tuvo como tema \u201cLa Interoperabilidad y la Agenda de Transformaci\u00f3n Digital en Salud en Bogot\u00e1 y Colombia\u201d. El evento abord\u00f3 el avance de la Agenda de Salud Digital de Colombia y su extensi\u00f3n a lo largo del territorio. Asimismo, el evento incluy\u00f3 temas como el cuidado de la salud por medio de la telemedicina, historia cl\u00ednica electr\u00f3nica, Inteligencia Artificial en salud, personalizaci\u00f3n de diagn\u00f3sticos y tratamientos y cuidado remoto El evento cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de Fernando Ruiz G\u00f3mez, titular del Minsalud, quien expuso los logros m\u00e1s recientes de Colombia en Salud Digital, as\u00ed como los desaf\u00edos pendientes. \u201cNuestro sistema tiene una limitaci\u00f3n importante, es fragmentado y no se habla entre las instituciones, las organizaciones; por esa raz\u00f3n, el reto m\u00e1s importante es la transformaci\u00f3n digital\u201d, explic\u00f3. De esta forma el ministro reconoci\u00f3 que el primer paso es reconocer a la Salud Digital como el campo de conocimiento que desarrollar\u00e1 el uso de tecnolog\u00eda para mejorar el sistema de salud. Asimismo, reconoci\u00f3 los avances logrados en la materia durante la pandemia, especialmente en telesalud y gen\u00f3mica. La telesalud en Colombia creci\u00f3 exponencialmente en este periodo, mientras antes de la pandemia los servicios de salud realizaban un mill\u00f3n de atenciones al mes, durante la emergencia sanitaria se registraron meses con hasta 10 millones de atenciones mensuales. En cuanto a la gen\u00f3mica, explic\u00f3 que dos a\u00f1os y cuatro meses despu\u00e9s del inicio de la pandemia, Colombia tiene una red de 22 laboratorios de gen\u00f3mica donde se desarrollan tareas de trazabilidad de las variantes de COVID-19. El avance de la Salud Digital y la interoperabilidad en Colombia, tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 relacionado con los avances normativos, como la Ley 1955, la ley 2015 y la resoluci\u00f3n 866, que han promovido y reglamentado el uso de telemedicina en el pa\u00eds. De esta forma, gracias a estas regulaciones la telemedicina llega a 370 municipios en Colombia. Otra de las estrategias que forman parte de la Agenda de Salud Digital es la hoja de ruta que detalla la importancia de las unidades anal\u00edticas de datos en salud, y el fortalecimiento de los portales y plataformas digitales de salud. \u201cVamos a dejar una plataforma tecnol\u00f3gica de pilotaje, gu\u00edas t\u00e9cnicas, proceso de preparaci\u00f3n de las entidades territoriales, prueba de interoperabilidad Cundinamarca, la nube colombiana\u201d, explic\u00f3 el ministro. Estas estrategias buscan que la interoperabilidad sea una realidad en Colombia, y lograr conectar a m\u00e1s de 10 mil instituciones de salud, p\u00fablica y privadas.  De hecho, el 19 de julio se realizar\u00e1 la primera \u201cconectat\u00f3n\u201d que tendr\u00e1 la participaci\u00f3n de cinco entidades territoriales y 100 instituciones prestadoras de servicios de salud (IPS).
