The Concepci\u00f3n Health Service in Chile (SSC) has formed an alliance with various institutions to start a pilot project that offers remote health services.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The province of Concepci\u00f3n in Chile has begun a stage of technology transfer in its health services. The pilot project in question seeks that more communes in the Concepci\u00f3n area have access to health equipment and quality medical care, especially those that are further away from the most inhabited areas and with greater health coverage.<\/p>

The SSC seeks that the implementation of telemedicine on the island of Santa Maria, provide timely care in case of any medical emergency. And transfers are better managed in case a patient requires specialized care.<\/p>

In this way, the Guillermo Grant Benavente Hospital or Regional Hospital of Concepci\u00f3n will use its medical telecare services to support doctors in remote areas and communities. "This is a pioneering project in the region and the country, which promotes innovation in the medical field and involves integration with relevant actors," explained Miriam Valdebenito, director of the SSC.<\/p>

The three institutions in charge of the pilot project are the SSC, the Virginio G\u00f3mez Professional Institute and the Biob\u00edo Development Corporation. El Servicio de Salud Concepci\u00f3n en Chile (SSC) ha formado una alianza con diversas instituciones para iniciar un proyecto piloto que ofrezca servicios de salud a distancia. La provincia de Concepci\u00f3n en Chile, ha comenzado una etapa de transferencia de tecnolog\u00edas en sus servicios de salud. El proyecto piloto en cuesti\u00f3n, busca que m\u00e1s comunas de la zona de Concepci\u00f3n tengan acceso a equipos sanitarios y atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica de calidad, especialmente las que se encuentran m\u00e1s alejadas de las zonas m\u00e1s habitadas y con mayor cobertura en salud. En este sentido la isla Santa Mar\u00eda y la comuna de Santa Juana, se van a instalar nuevos equipos t\u00e9cnicos y se capacitar\u00e1 a profesionales para crear un sistema de medicina a distancia, que responda ante cualquier caso de emergencia o de diagn\u00f3stico de enfermedades. \u201cHoy nace la posibilidad concreta de llegar con telemedicina de gran nivel y dar soporte las 24 horas y los siete d\u00edas de la semana a esos habitantes\u201d, explic\u00f3 el subdirector de Gesti\u00f3n Asistencial del SSC, el Dr. Jaime Tapia. El SSC busca que la implementaci\u00f3n de telemedicina en la isla de Santa Mar\u00eda, proporcione atenci\u00f3n oportuna en caso de cualquier emergencia m\u00e9dica. Y se gestionen mejor los traslados en caso de que alg\u00fan paciente requiera atenci\u00f3n especializada. De esta forma el Hospital Guillermo Grant Benavente u Hospital Regional de Concepci\u00f3n, utilizar\u00e1 sus servicios de teleasistencia m\u00e9dica para apoyar a los m\u00e9dicos en zonas y comunidades alejadas. \u201cEste es un proyecto pionero en la regi\u00f3n y el pa\u00eds, que potencia la innovaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1mbito m\u00e9dico e implica la integraci\u00f3n con actores relevantes\u201d, explic\u00f3 Miriam Valdebenito la directora del SSC.
