These types of technologies are associated with precision medicine and molecular signatures.<\/p><p>The article: \u201cCross-Platform Unique Prediction Procedure: A Statistical Machine Learning Framework for Wider Implementation of Precision Medicine\u201d, published in <em>npj Digital Health<\/em>, explores new approaches to using omics data to independently predict patient outcomes.<\/p><p>The study presents the Cross-Platform Omics Prediction (CPOP), which is a regression model that is able to use omics data to predict patient data independently of the platform and over time. First, the construction of features based on proportions, this means that they can be used on various platforms as their name indicates. The second step is that the selection process incorporates functions that measure the stability of functions in multiple data sets. And finally the third step is to select features that have estimated effects on multiple data sets.<\/p><p>In this sense, the model was built for the analysis of stage III melanoma and used a newly generated data set based on an independent cohort. The most relevant aspect of this research is that the authors developed an interactive web portal where the loading of data is illustrated, and the obtaining of risk predictions in patients with stage III melanoma: <a href=\"http:\/\/shiny.maths.usyd.edu.au\/CPOP\/\">http:\/\/shiny.maths.usyd.edu.au\/CPOP\/<\/a>.<\/p><p>The molecular risk calculator allows gene expression data to be uploaded to assess the prognosis of stage III melanoma patients.<\/p><p>The work was carried out by the Melanoma Center of Research Excellence, Melanoma Research Institute Australia and the University of Sydney. El art\u00edculo: \u201cProcedimiento de predicci\u00f3n \u00fanica multiplataforma: un marco de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico estad\u00edstico para una implementaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s amplia de la medicina de precisi\u00f3n\u201d, publicado en npj Digital Health, explora los nuevos enfoques sobre el uso de datos \u00f3micos para predecir los resultados de pacientes de manera independiente. El estudio presenta la Predicci\u00f3n \u00d3mica Multiplataforma (CPOP, en ingl\u00e9s), que se trata de un modelo de regres\u00f3 que es capaz de utilizar datos \u00f3micos para predecir los datos de pacientes de forma independiente de la plataforma y a lo largo del tiempo. La publicaci\u00f3n detalla que la CPOP mejora el marco de predicci\u00f3n tradicional mediante el uso de caracter\u00edsticas basadas en genes. De esta forma el CPOP fue desarrollado de la siguiente forma, tomando en cuenta tres fases espec\u00edficas. Primero, la construcci\u00f3n de caracter\u00edsticas basadas en proporciones, esto significa que pueden utilizarse en diversas plataformas como lo indica su nombre. El segundo paso es, que el proceso de selecci\u00f3n incorpora funciones que miden la estabilidad de funciones en m\u00faltiples conjuntos de datos. Y finalmente el tercer paso es seleccionar caracter\u00edsticas que tengan efectos estimados en m\u00faltiples conjuntos de datos. En este sentido, el modelo fue construido para el an\u00e1lisis de melanoma en etapa III y utilizaron un conjunto de datos reci\u00e9n generado basado en una cohorte independiente. Lo m\u00e1s relevante de esta investigaci\u00f3n, es que los autores desarrollaron un portal web interactivo donde se ilustra la carga de datos, y la obtenci\u00f3n de predicciones de riesgo en pacientes con melanoma en etapa III: http:\/\/shiny.maths.usyd.edu.au\/CPOP\/. La calculadora de riesgo molecular, permite que se carguen datos de expresi\u00f3n de genes, y as\u00ed evaluar el pron\u00f3stico de pacientes de melanoma etapa III.
