Thanks to technological advances, continuous glucose monitoring is a reality. There are sensors that measure the levels and that in turn can be scanned using a mobile device through an app. In addition, they have data visualization and download tools to make decisions about insulin doses.<\/p><p>The study titled &quot;Improving self-management in type 1 diabetes with wearable devices and deep learning,&quot; published in <em>npj Digital Medicine journal<\/em> showed the monitoring of 12 adult patients with DM1 using continuous glucose monitoring and a clinically validated wearable sensor bracelet. As mentioned above, the app allows users to record various types of daily activities, exercise, health conditions, and also allows users to consult glucose measurements and their historical records.<\/p><p>The method used a prediction horizon of 60 minutes and reached the parameters for the detection of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia and reduced the mean square error.<\/p><p>\u201cThe well-trained model is implemented in the ARISES application to provide real-time decision support. Gracias a los avances tecnol\u00f3gicos la monitorizaci\u00f3n continua de la glucosa es una realidad. Existen sensores que miden los niveles y que a su vez pueden ser escaneados utilizando un dispositivo m\u00f3vil a trav\u00e9s de una app. Adem\u00e1s, cuentan con herramientas de visualizaci\u00f3n y descarga de datos para tomar decisiones sobre las dosis de insulina. El estudio titulado \u201cMejorando la autogesti\u00f3n en la diabetes tipo 1 con dispositivos port\u00e1tiles y aprendizaje profundo\u201d, publicado en npj Digital Medicine mostr\u00f3 el monitoreo de 12 pacientes adultos con DM1 utilizando monitorizaci\u00f3n continua de la glucosa y una pulsera con un sensor port\u00e1til validada cl\u00ednicamente. Los autores identificaron asociaciones entre mediciones fisiol\u00f3gicas, hipoglucemia e hiperglucemia. Posteriormente desarrollaron una plataforma basada en tel\u00e9fonos inteligentes llamada ARISES (Sistema adaptativo, en tiempo real e inteligente para mejorar el autocuidado, en ingl\u00e9s). Sumado a esto implementaron un algoritmo de aprendizaje profundo que utiliza datos de la monitorizaci\u00f3n, horas de comida, dosis de insulina, para la predicci\u00f3n de niveles de glucosa, hiper e hipoglucemia. La app m\u00f3vil es capaz de interactuar con los dispositivos m\u00f3viles, en este caso las pulseras, a trav\u00e9s de conexi\u00f3n por Bluetooth y est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada especialmente para los usuarios son DM1. Como se mencion\u00f3 anteriormente, la app permite que usuarios registren diversos tipos de actividades diarias, ejercicio, condiciones de salud, y adem\u00e1s permite consultar las mediciones de glucosa y sus registros hist\u00f3ricos.
