More than five million patients in Honduras have electronic medical records at the Hospital Escuela (HE).<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The project to digitize clinical records in Honduras began at the end of 2015 in the HE, the most important in the country. In addition, they have made progress in the digital prescription of medicines in pharmacies through an interconnected network of warehouses.<\/p>

Along with the project to digitize the electronic medical record, the Hospital began to systematize emergency triage processes for adults and is currently working with tools to promote outpatient consultations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

However, one of the most innovative advances is the implementation of electronic business cards to control the admission of relatives of hospitalized patients and an electronic bracelet that identifies each hospitalized patient and the area where they are hospitalized.<\/p>

\u201cThe idea of everything is to be able to provide the best possible care to the patient, improve times, have more exact and precise statistics, provide a quality service that is available at the right time and not only in the Teaching Hospital, but in the different service centers in the country\u201d, explained the head of the HE Technology Management Unit, Fernando Figueroa.<\/p>

The digitization project seeks to complete the electronic files of all patients in the next five years. M\u00e1s de cinco millones de pacientes en Honduras cuentan con expediente cl\u00ednico electr\u00f3nico en el Hospital Escuela (HE). El proyecto de digitalizaci\u00f3n de los expedientes cl\u00ednicos en Honduras comenz\u00f3 a finales de 2015 en el HE, el m\u00e1s importante del pa\u00eds. Adem\u00e1s, han registrado avances en la prescripci\u00f3n digital de medicamentos en farmacias a trav\u00e9s de una red interconectada de almacenes. A la par con el proyecto de digitalizaci\u00f3n del expediente cl\u00ednico electr\u00f3nico, el Hospital comenz\u00f3 a sistematizar procesos del triaje de emergencia para adultos y actualmente trabajan con herramientas para promover las consultas externas. Sin embargo, uno de los avances m\u00e1s innovadores es la implementaci\u00f3n de las tarjetas de visita electr\u00f3nica, para controlar el ingreso de familiares de pacientes internados y un brazalete electr\u00f3nico que identifica a cada paciente hospitalizado y el \u00e1rea donde se encuentran internados. \u201cLa idea de todo es poderle brindar la mejor atenci\u00f3n posible al paciente, mejorar los tiempos, tener una estad\u00edstica m\u00e1s exacta y precisa, brindar un servicio de calidad que est\u00e9 disponible en el momento oportuno y no solo en el Hospital Escuela, sino en los diferentes centros de atenci\u00f3n del pa\u00eds\u201d, explic\u00f3 el jefe de la Unidad de Gesti\u00f3n de Tecnolog\u00eda del HE, Fernando Figueroa. El proyecto de digitalizaci\u00f3n busca completar los expedientes electr\u00f3nicos de todos los pacientes en los pr\u00f3ximos cinco a\u00f1os.
