In total, 1,003 patients participated.<\/p><p>Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by various impaired social interactions, as well as certain intellectual and behavioral difficulties. The study, led by neuroscientist Aidas Aglinskas, analyzed brain MRI scans to identify brain differences attributed to ASD. Los investigadores del Boston College, realizaron un an\u00e1lisis a trav\u00e9s de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico, de im\u00e1genes cerebrales de pacientes con TEA. En total participaron 1,003 pacientes. El trastorno del espectro autista (TEA), se caracteriza por diversas interacciones sociales deterioradas, as\u00ed como ciertas dificultades intelectuales y de comportamiento. El estudio conducido por el neurocient\u00edfico Aidas Aglinskas, analiz\u00f3 esc\u00e1neres cerebrales de im\u00e1genes de resonancia magn\u00e9tica para identificar diferencias cerebrales que se atribuyen al TEA. De esta forma pudieron encontrar evidencia que podr\u00eda ayudar a mejorar las intervenciones a pacientes con TEA. \u201cUtilizamos el aprendizaje profundo contrastivo para desentra\u00f1ar la variaci\u00f3n neuroanat\u00f3mica espec\u00edfica del TEA de la variaci\u00f3n compartida con los participantes de control t\u00edpicos\u201d. De esta forma pudieron identificar que los cerebros de los pacientes cuentan con muchas diferencias en diversas regiones cerebrales, incluso aquellas com\u00fanmente relacionadas con los s\u00edntomas de TEA. Es decir, los pacientes con TEA tienen tener afectaciones en diferentes regiones del cerebro, y por ello los s\u00edntomas son distintos en cada paciente y tambi\u00e9n de distinta gravedad. \u201cConfirmar estas propuestas ha sido dif\u00edcil porque identificar las alteraciones neuronales espec\u00edficas del TEA es una tarea complicada\u201d, explic\u00f3 Aglinskas. Asimismo, el neurocient\u00edfico explica que los cerebros de las personas con TEA son distintos por diversas razones como la variaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica y no debido al autismo. Sobre el uso de la IA, para realizar esta investigaci\u00f3n Aglinskas explic\u00f3 que &#8220;ha sido dif\u00edcil identificar las variaciones en la anatom\u00eda del cerebro que est\u00e1n relacionadas con los distintos s\u00edntomas.
