The Social Security of Peru (EsSalud) began a pilot test of teletriage and teleemergency services in the town of Chincha; they seek to replicate it at the national level.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

EsSalud's pilot plan for teletriage and tele-emergencies has provided more than 12,000 services in less than two months since its implementation. This service was implemented on April 4 at the Hospital Level II Ren\u00e9 Toche Groppo de Chincha in the department of Ica.<\/p>

The attention to the insured in this hospital managed to improve its flow of attention, since in less than two months it registered 11 thousand 213 attentions in teletriage and 1,250 in tele-emergencies.<\/p>

The services provided to this hospital are performed from the EsSalud National Telemedicine Center<\/a>\u00a0 (Cenate) that has professionals trained in remote care. In this way, the director of the Cenate, Sergio Machado, explained that the decentralization of services is part of a macro-regional plan that seeks to replicate itself in more units that provide health services at the national level.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Teletriage services consist of the classification of emergency patients, that is, remote triage, in a virtual way that directs the patient to the corresponding area of the hospital. On the other hand, the purpose of tele-emergency care is to virtually attend emergency patients with priority levels 4 and 5, that is, patients who must be treated in outpatient clinics. EsSalud explained that the tele-emergency strategy manages to reduce the waiting time from 4 or 5 hours to 15 minutes.<\/p>

El Seguro Social de Per\u00fa (EsSalud) inici\u00f3 una prueba piloto de servicios de teletriaje y teleurgencias en la localidad de Chincha; buscan replicarlo a nivel nacional. El plan piloto de EsSalud en teletriaje y teleurgencias, ha brindado m\u00e1s de 12 mil atenciones a menos de dos meses desde su implementaci\u00f3n. Este servicio fue implementado el 4 de abril en el Hospital Nivel II Ren\u00e9 Toche Groppo de Chincha en el departamento de Ica. La atenci\u00f3n a los asegurados en este hospital logr\u00f3 mejorar su flujo de atenci\u00f3n pues en menos de dos meses registr\u00f3 11 mil 213 atenciones en teletriaje y mil 250 en teleurgencias. Los servicios prestados a este hospital son realizados desde el Centro Nacional de Telemedicina de EsSalud  (Cenate) que cuenta con profesionales capacitados para la atenci\u00f3n a distancia. De esta forma, el director del Cenate Sergio Machado, explic\u00f3 que la descentralizaci\u00f3n de los servicios forma parte de un plan macrorregional que busca replicarse en m\u00e1s unidades prestadoras de servicios de salud a nivel nacional. Los servicios de teletriaje consisten en la clasificaci\u00f3n de paciente de urgencias, es decir un triaje a distancia, de manera virtual que dirige al paciente al \u00e1rea correspondiente del hospital. Por otra parte, las atenciones de teleurgencias, tienen como prop\u00f3sito atender virtualmente a pacientes urgencias de nivel de prioridad 4 y 5, es decir pacientes que deben ser atendidos en consultorios externos. EsSalud explic\u00f3 que la estrategia de teleurgencias logra reducir el tiempo de espera de 4 o 5 horas a 15 minutos. Por otra parte, EsSalud anunci\u00f3 que este plan piloto ser\u00e1 implementado tambi\u00e9n en Hu\u00e1nuco, pero que contar\u00e1 con servicios de telemedicina y teleconsultas.
