The Crisis Text Line, is a non-profit organization that provides mental health support to people, usually young people, via text message. In this sense, they recently published a study showing that the use of PLN could generate relevant information to improve mental health care.<\/p>

The study shows that, through the PLN, the extraction of information from conversations carried out by Crisis Text Line in 2021 was achieved. Around 40 million messages were exchanged between young people and counselors. In addition, 70% of the conversations were established with people under 25 years of age, a relevant fact about the state of mental health of young people in the United States.<\/p>

The main topic of the conversations was anxiety, which reached its highest point during 2019, according to previous reports from the organization. The PLN through its neural networks can analyze information such as text, voice, to generate relevant information.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In this way it was possible to classify and analyze massive amounts of messages that are unstructured data. For the study, more than 1.3 million conversations were analyzed, analyzing the topics of each conversation in search of information that explores the risk of suicide among users.<\/p>

In 2021, the words most used by users of the line were \u201cthinking\u201d, \u201chelp\u201d, \u201cmom\u201d, \u201cdepressed\u201d and \u201ctime\u201d. Thanks to the PLN, it was possible for The Crisis Text Line to identify trends in the mental health of young users in order to improve their care.<\/p>

In addition, the counselors have implemented techniques through digital media such as construction video games, videos on physical self-care, promotion of exercise through videos, among others, which are intended to be a coping mechanism for anxiety problems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El procesamiento de lenguaje natural (PLN), ser\u00eda \u00fatil para encontrar tendencias en la salud mental de los j\u00f3venes que viven con ansiedad. The Crisis Text Line, es una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro que brinda apoyo en salud mental a personas, generalmente j\u00f3venes v\u00eda mensaje de texto. En este sentido, recientemente publicaron un estudio donde muestran que el uso de PLN podr\u00eda generar informaci\u00f3n relevante para mejorar la atenci\u00f3n en salud mental. El estudio muestra que, a trav\u00e9s del PLN, se logr\u00f3 la extracci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n de conversaciones realizadas por Crisis Text Line en 2021. Para el estudio fueron analizadas m\u00e1s de 1.3 millones de conversaciones, analizando los t\u00f3picos de cada conversaci\u00f3n en b\u00fasqueda de informaci\u00f3n que explore el riesgo de suicidio entre los usuarios. En 2021, las palabras m\u00e1s utilizadas por los usuarios de la l\u00ednea fueron “pensando”, “ayuda”, “mam\u00e1”, “deprimido” y “tiempo”. Gracias al PLN, fue posible que The Crisis Text Line identifique tendencias en la salud mental e los j\u00f3venes usuarios para mejorar su atenci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, los consejeros han implementado t\u00e9cnicas a trav\u00e9s de medios digitales como videojuegos de construcci\u00f3n, videos sobre autocuidado f\u00edsico, promoci\u00f3n del ejercicio a trav\u00e9s de videos, entre otras, que tienen la intenci\u00f3n de ser un mecanismo de afrontamiento ante los problemas de ansiedad.
