Health information systems in Paraguay have been expanded in public medical centers throughout the country.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

According to figures from the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS) of Paraguay, there are currently 110 health establishments that have implemented new health information system tools. Of this figure, 45 have been carried out during 2022.<\/p>

This strategy seeks to digitize the health system at the national level, and improve the management of health centers. Recently, systems in maternal and pediatric health medical establishments, as well as district general hospitals, were upgraded.<\/p>

The MSPBS explained in a statement that "The advancement of HIS (Health Information Systems) represents a great step for the efficient organization of human resources, integrated data management and the gradual construction of the long-awaited digital transformation that, without a doubt, will be the engine of change for the provision of quality care to citizens\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Among the benefits of the digitalization of the health system at the national level, the ministry highlights that patients reduce their waiting times, receive longer consultation times, and facilitate their diagnosis by having information quickly available through the electronic medical record.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Regarding the benefits for health professionals, health information systems speed up care and, through an automated system, it flows better. Likewise, like patients, doctors have the opportunity to improve their diagnoses thanks to the availability of the patient's medical history.<\/p>

Likewise, one of the great benefits is the better management of resources. For example, in the availability of medicines in pharmacies, by digitizing these processes, there is exact control of the pharmacy's stock so that medical prescriptions are not wasted.<\/p>

In this way, the Paraguayan public health system advances in the standardization of workflow processes, improves productivity and service quality.<\/p>

Los sistemas de informaci\u00f3n en salud en Paraguay se han expandido en centros m\u00e9dicos p\u00fablicos de todo el pa\u00eds. Seg\u00fan cifras del Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica y Bienestar Social (MSPBS) de Paraguay, actualmente existe 110 establecimiento sanitarios que han implementado nuevas herramientas de sistemas de informaci\u00f3n en salud. De esta cifra, 45 se han realizado durante 2022. Esta estrategia busca la digitalizaci\u00f3n del sistema de salud a nivel nacional, y mejorar la gesti\u00f3n de los centros de salud. Recientemente, se actualizaron los sistemas en establecimientos m\u00e9dicos de salud materna y pedi\u00e1trico, as\u00ed como en hospitales generales distritales. El MSPBS explic\u00f3 en un comunicado que el “El avance del HIS (Health Information Sistemas) representa un gran paso para la organizaci\u00f3n eficiente de recursos humanos, gesti\u00f3n integrada de datos y la construcci\u00f3n gradual de la anhelada transformaci\u00f3n digital que, sin duda, ser\u00e1\u0301 el motor del cambio para provisi\u00f3n de una atenci\u00f3n de calidad a los ciudadanos”. Entre los beneficios de la digitalizaci\u00f3n del sistema sanitario a nivel nacional, el ministerio destaca que los pacientes reducen sus tiempos de espera, reciben mayores tiempos de consulta, y facilitan su diagn\u00f3stico al tener informaci\u00f3n disponible de manera r\u00e1pida a trav\u00e9s de la historia cl\u00ednica electr\u00f3nica. En cuanto a los beneficios para los profesionales de la salud, los sistemas de informaci\u00f3n en salud aceleran la atenci\u00f3n y a trav\u00e9s de un sistema automatizado fluye de mejor manera. As\u00ed mismo al igual que los pacientes, los m\u00e9dicos tienen oportunidad de mejorar sus diagn\u00f3sticos gracias a la disponibilidad de la historia cl\u00ednica de los pacientes. Asimismo, uno de los grandes beneficios es la mejor gesti\u00f3n de los recursos. Por ejemplo, en la disponibilidad de medicamentos en farmacias, al digitalizar estos procesos se tiene un control exacto del stock de la farmacia para que no se desperdicien recetas m\u00e9dicas. De esta forma, el sistema de salud p\u00fablico de Paraguay, avanza en la estandarizaci\u00f3n de procesos en el flujo de trabajo, mejora la productividad y la calidad del servicio.
