The Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD), presented a seminar entitled: "Technologies at the service of access and quality of Health in Chile: guidelines for good practices in Telemedicine and Telehealth".<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The seminar was organized by the Biomedical Informatics Center and the Bioethics and Law Observatory of the Faculty of Medicine of the UDD. In addition, it had the participation of the Telemedicine Unit of the University of Concepci\u00f3n, University of California, UC Davis and the Ministry of Health.<\/p>

Specialists from the Institute of Sciences and Innovation in Medicine (ICIM) of the UDD, presented the advances on the foundations and guidelines for the development of telemedicine in Chile. This project began four years ago in 2018, and was born with the purpose of developing, disseminating and implementing the guidelines for the development of this modality in the country, as well as to accelerate the innovation processes of health systems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Maurizio Mattoli, ICIM researcher and project director, explained that it is necessary to improve access to health and improve the efficiency of the system through telemedicine, within a framework of quality and safety.<\/p>

The proposed guidelines include aspects related to remote care, characterization of telehealth services, regulatory framework, standards of care, organization of human resources and technologies, financing, and training.<\/p>

It is expected that in June of this year the third edition of the guidelines will be published, and that the project will become part of the University Telemedicine Network (RUTE Chile<\/a>). In this way, it will be possible to promote the development of telemedicine in the country and articulate new initiatives and strategies for the digital transformation of the health sector.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD), present\u00f3 un seminario titulado: \u201cLas tecnolog\u00edas al servicio del acceso y calidad de la Salud en Chile: lineamientos para las buenas pr\u00e1cticas en Telemedicina y Telesalud\u201d. El seminario fue organizado por el Centro de Inform\u00e1tica Biom\u00e9dica y el Observatorio de Bio\u00e9tica y Derecho de la Facultad de Medicina de la UDD. Adem\u00e1s, cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de la Unidad de Telemedicina de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n, University of California, UC Davis y el Ministerio de Salud. Especialistas del Instituto de Ciencias e Innovaci\u00f3n en Medicina (ICIM) de la UDD, presentaron los avances sobre los fundamentos y lineamientos para el desarrollo de la telemedicina en Chile. Este proyecto inici\u00f3 hace cuatro a\u00f1os en 2018, y naci\u00f3 con el prop\u00f3sito de desarrollar, difundir e implementar los lineamientos para el desarrollo de esta modalidad en el pa\u00eds, as\u00ed como para acelerar los procesos de innovaci\u00f3n de los sistemas de salud. Maurizio Mattoli, investigador del ICIM y director del proyecto, explic\u00f3 que es necesario mejorar el acceso a la salud y mejorar la eficiencia del sistema a trav\u00e9s de telemedicina, dentro de un marco de calidad y seguridad. Los lineamientos propuestos incluyen aspectos relacionados con la atenci\u00f3n a distancia, caracterizaci\u00f3n de servicios de telesalud, marco normativo, est\u00e1ndares de cuidado, organizaci\u00f3n de recursos humanos y tecnolog\u00edas, financiamiento y capacitaci\u00f3n. Se espera que en junio de este a\u00f1o sea publicada la tercera edici\u00f3n de los lineamientos, y que el proyecto pase a formar parte de la Red Universitaria de Telemedicina (RUTE Chile). De esta forma, se lograr\u00e1 impulsar el desarrollo de la telemedicina en el pa\u00eds y articular nuevas iniciativas y estrategias de transformaci\u00f3n digital del sector salud.
