The Health Commission of the Chilean Senate approved the changes made by the Lower House on the law that will regulate health providers who provide care by telemedicine.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On April 19, the Health Commission of the Chilean Senate announced the priority projects of the 2022 legislative agenda for the government. Among them is Bulletin No. 13,375-11, on the Bill that authorizes health providers to provide care through telemedicine.<\/p>

Prior to this announcement, on April 14, likewise, the Senate Health Commission approved the changes proposed by the Chamber of Deputies<\/a>. These changes were made during the second process of this telemedicine regulation law.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The new regulation law for health service providers to carry out care by telemedicine, explains that: "Remote care will be understood as that which is the responsibility of all health professionals and that takes place through the use of communication technologies. for the exchange of information for diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, end-of-life care, disease and injury prevention, research, and evaluation purposes.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition, it establishes that the application of telemedicine can be given in outpatient and hospital care environments. In this sense, Chile is close to having a law that regulates and authorizes telemedicine services and professionals offer their services through this modality.<\/p>

Regarding the various initiatives that are part of the legislative agenda of the Congress and the Ministry of Health, the Minister of Health, Mar\u00eda Bego\u00f1a Yarza, explained that \u201cif we want to transform the Health System, it is not only through the financing, but also from innovation\u201d.<\/p>

La Comisi\u00f3n de Salud del Senado de Chile, aprob\u00f3 los cambios realizados por la C\u00e1mara Baja sobre la ley que regular\u00e1 a los prestadores de salud que efect\u00faan atenciones por telemedicina. En 19 de abril, la Comisi\u00f3n de Salud del Senado de Chile, anunci\u00f3 los proyectos prioritarios de la agenda legislativa 2022 para el gobierno. Entre ellos se encuentra el Bolet\u00edn N\u00b013.375-11, sobre el Proyecto de ley que autoriza a los prestadores de salud para efectuar atenciones mediante telemedicina. Previo a este anuncio, el 14 de abril, de igual forma, la Comisi\u00f3n de Salud del Senado aprob\u00f3 los cambios propuestos por la C\u00e1mara de Diputados. Estos cambios se realizaron durante el segundo tr\u00e1mite de esta ley de regulaci\u00f3n de telemedicina. La nueva ley de regulaci\u00f3n prestadores de servicios de salud para efectuar atenciones por telemedicina, explica que: \u201cSe entender\u00e1 por atenci\u00f3n a distancia, aquella que compete a todos los profesionales de la salud y que tiene lugar mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de las tecnolog\u00edas de las comunicaciones para el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n con fines de diagn\u00f3stico, terap\u00e9uticos, de rehabilitaci\u00f3n, cuidados del fin de la vida, prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades y lesiones, investigaci\u00f3n y evaluaci\u00f3n\u201d. Adem\u00e1s, establece que la aplicaci\u00f3n de la telemedicina se puede dar en ambientes de atenci\u00f3n ambulatoria y hospitalaria. En este sentido, Chile est\u00e1 cerca de contar con una ley que regula y autoriza los servicios de telemedicina y a los profesionales ofrecen sus servicios por esta modalidad. En cuanto a las diversas iniciativas que forman parte de la agenda legislativa del congreso y del Ministerio de Salud, la ministra de salud, Mar\u00eda Bego\u00f1a Yarza, explic\u00f3 que \u201csi nosotros queremos hacer la transformaci\u00f3n del Sistema de Salud, no es solo a trav\u00e9s del financiamiento, sino que tambi\u00e9n desde la innovaci\u00f3n\u201d. Adem\u00e1s, resalt\u00f3 que solo es un tema de recursos, sino una necesidad de realizar cambios en la manera de hacer las cosas para que tengan efectividad en el sistema de salud.
