In Honduras, the Gracias a Dios health region, the Puerto Lempira Hospital and the Isla de la Bah\u00eda health region received an evaluation and diagnosis of their telecommunications infrastructure to develop strategies for the installation of cabling, which strengthens the tasks epidemiological surveillance.<\/p>

Dr. Rosa Elena Mej\u00eda, Dr. Rodolfo Pe\u00f1a and Ing. These actions are part of the American Rescue Plan, promoted by the United States Agency for International Development, which aims to strengthen and replace the information and communication technology infrastructure in ten hospitals in priority regions determined by the US government. .<\/p>

The purpose of the project is to prevent, detect and respond to public health emergencies. All this through the implementation of local networks or intranet between hospitals and health centers. En marzo de 2022, la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud, organiz\u00f3 una visita a Honduras para fortalecer la infraestructura tecnol\u00f3gica en dos regiones sanitarias de Honduras. En Honduras la regi\u00f3n de salud de Gracias a Dios, el Hospital de Puerto Lempira y la regi\u00f3n de salud de Isla de la Bah\u00eda, recibieron una evaluaci\u00f3n y diagn\u00f3stico sobre su infraestructura de telecomunicaciones para desarrollar estrategias para la instalaci\u00f3n de cableado, que fortalezca las tareas de vigilancia epidemiol\u00f3gica. La Dra. Rosa Elena Mej\u00eda, el Dr. Rodolfo Pe\u00f1a y el Ing. Wolfr\u00e1n Silva, en una misi\u00f3n de la OPS, fueron trasladados a la isla de Roat\u00e1n en honduras, para avanzar con las estrategas de fortalecimiento de infraestructura en tecnolog\u00edas de la informaci\u00f3n. El Dr. Pe\u00f1a, que se desempe\u00f1a como Asesor de Enfermedades Transmisibles de la OPS\/OMS, realiz\u00f3 la entrega de donaciones de equipos de c\u00f3mputo a las autoridades sanitaria de la regi\u00f3n de Islas de la Bah\u00eda. Estas acciones forman parte del American Rescue Plan, impulsado por la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional, que tiene como objetivo fortalecer y reemplazar la infraestructura de tecnolog\u00edas de la informaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n en diez hospitales en regiones prioritarias, determinadas por el gobierno estadounidense. El proyecto tiene el prop\u00f3sito de prevenir, detectar y responder ante emergencias de salud p\u00fablica. Todo esto a trav\u00e9s de la implementaci\u00f3n de redes locales o intranet entre hospitales y centros de salud.
