Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, (HIMSS), is a non-profit organization specialized in promoting and improving the quality and safety of medical care through information systems. In this sense, HIMSS is one of the most important organizations in relation to digital transformation and digitization processes in health systems.<\/p>

In their 2022 report, the current state of medical care highlights the acceleration of these processes due to the pandemic and the adoption of new technologies and care models.<\/p>

The study was conducted between November and December 2021 and included the participation of 359 physicians, 1,600 patients, 273 health system leaders, and 2,145 participating organizations from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

One of the first data that the report shows is that 84% of doctors say that their organizations or institutions require them to use digital health tools. Therefore, digital transformation is an issue that is on the agenda of most service provider institutions and their executive levels.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Regarding personalized attention, the 73% of the United States organizations are in an initial stage for the implementation of this type of attention. However, the 36% of international organizations are already implementing these strategies.<\/p>

On the other hand, the report shows the fundamental role that doctors have taken in digitization and what they expect from it. For example, the 55% of doctors in the United States, a successful digital transformation is when it adjusts to the needs of employees, that is, their digital skills, workflow, workload, among others; Likewise, the 56% considers that it is the one that adjusts to the patient's needs, such as age, health conditions, location, digital skills and more.<\/p>

In the case of patients, the report indicates that most patients do not feel adequately supported by the service provider. And hardly the 25% agrees that they receive personalized attention. In this sense, Lauren Goodman, director of market intelligence at HIMSS, explains that it is an opportunity for service providers to support their patients and develop new health care models that offer digital solutions.<\/p>

El reporte de 12 p\u00e1ginas realiza un recorrido por los avances de la transformaci\u00f3n digital, la atenci\u00f3n personalizada y el rol actual de m\u00e9dicos y pacientes. Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, (HIMSS), es una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro especializada en la promoci\u00f3n y mejoramiento de la calidad y seguridad de la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica a trav\u00e9s de sistemas de informaci\u00f3n.  En este sentido, HIMSS es una de las organizaciones m\u00e1s importantes en relaci\u00f3n con la transformaci\u00f3n digital y procesos de digitalizaci\u00f3n en sistemas de salud. En su reporte 2022, del estado actual de la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica destacan la aceleraci\u00f3n de estos procesos debido a la pandemia y a la adopci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas y modelos de atenci\u00f3n. El estudio fue realizado entre noviembre y diciembre de 2021 e incluy\u00f3 la participaci\u00f3n de 359 m\u00e9dicos, mil 600 pacientes, 273 l\u00edderes de sistemas de salud y 2145 organizaciones de participantes de Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Alemania, Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Uno de los primeros datos que arroja el reporte es que el 84% de los m\u00e9dicos dicen que sus organizaciones o instituciones les exigen usar herramientas de salud digital. Por lo que la transformaci\u00f3n digital es un tema que se encuentra en la agenda de la gran parte de las instituciones prestadoras de servicios y sus niveles ejecutivos. En cuanto a la atenci\u00f3n personalizada, el 73% de las organizaciones de Estados Unidos, se encuentran en una etapa inicial para la implementaci\u00f3n de este tipo de atenci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, el 36% de las organizaciones internacionales ya se encuentran implementando estas estrategias. Por otra parte, el reporte muestra el rol fundamental que han tomado los m\u00e9dicos en la digitalizaci\u00f3n y qu\u00e9 es lo que esperan de ello. Por ejemplo, el 55% de los m\u00e9dicos en Estados Unidos, una transformaci\u00f3n digital exitosa es cuando se ajusta a las necesidades de los empleados, es decir sus habilidades digitales, flujo de trabajo, carga de trabajo, entre otros; asimismo el 56% considera que es aquel que se ajusta a las necesidades del paciente, como edad, condiciones de salud, ubicaci\u00f3n, habilidades digitales y m\u00e1s. En el caso de los pacientes, el reporte indica que la mayor parte de los pacientes no se sienten apoyados adecuadamente por el prestador de servicios. Y apenas el 25% est\u00e1 de acuerdo que reciben una atenci\u00f3n personalizada.
