Researchers from the Computing Department of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) developed a mobile application to identify risk areas for COVID-19 in closed environments. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Brisbane Ovilla Mart\u00ednez and Cuauht\u00e9moc Mancillas L\u00f3pez, from the Computer Department of the Cinvestav Zacatenco unit, developed a bluetooth-based mobile app to identify COVID-19 risk areas in closed communities, as well as an alert system for users in case of possible contact with infected people.<\/p>

In the first place, the system consists of the installation of several beacon<\/em> or beacons, in closed spaces such as hospitals, offices, universities, among others. Beacons are devices that are smaller than the palm of a hand and their function is to emit a signal via bluetooth.<\/p>

Second, the researchers developed the Applacovid mobile application, which must be downloaded by health professionals, students, teachers or workers, as the case may be. Through the app they can report if they are infected with COVID-19, and the signal will be issued through the beacon<\/em>, alerting other users about a possible contagion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In this way, when a person indicates that they are infected with COVID-19, the authorities of the space where this system is applied, can identify the places within the property where this person was. Thus, resources can be directed in a better way, and determine exactly who is tested for COVID-19, to detect suspected cases quickly and prevent further infections.<\/p>

Likewise, if a person with whom a user had contact becomes infected, the Applacovid system will also notify them. User privacy is protected at all times, since all data collected by the app is anonymous and does not record names or personal data of users.<\/p>

Investigadores del Departamento de Computaci\u00f3n del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n y de Estudios Avanzados (Cinvestav), desarrollaron una aplicaci\u00f3n m\u00f3vil para la identificar zonas de riesgo de COVID-19 en ambientes cerrados. Brisbane Ovilla Mart\u00ednez y Cuauht\u00e9moc Mancillas L\u00f3pez, del Departamento de Computaci\u00f3n del Cinvestav unidad Zacatenco, desarrollaron una app m\u00f3vil basada en bluetooth, para la identificaci\u00f3n de zonas de riesgo de COVID-19, en comunidades cerradas, as\u00ed como un sistema de alerta para los usuarios en caso de un posible contacto con personas contagiadas. En primer lugar, el sistema consiste en la instalaci\u00f3n de varios beacons o balizas, en espacios cerrados como hospitales, oficinas, universidades, entre otras. Los beacons son dispositivos con un tama\u00f1o menor a la palma de una mano y su funci\u00f3n es emitir una se\u00f1al a trav\u00e9s de bluetooth. En segundo lugar, los investigadores desarrollaron la aplicaci\u00f3n m\u00f3vil Applacovid, la cual debe ser descargada por los profesionales de la salud, estudiantes, docentes o trabajadores, seg\u00fan sea el caso. A trav\u00e9s de la app pueden reportar si est\u00e1n contagiados de COVID-19, y la se\u00f1al ser\u00e1 emitida a trav\u00e9s de los beacons, alertando a otros usuarios sobre un sobre un posible contagio. \u201cLa comunidad en la que se dispone Applacovid puede colaborar con el sistema instalando la aplicaci\u00f3n y llevando el tel\u00e9fono en todo momento; Applacovid detecta la presencia de otros tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles cercanos que tambi\u00e9n la instalaron e intercambian mensajes an\u00f3nimos para realizar un registro de los encuentros que podr\u00edan representar un riesgo de contagio, en caso de que la persona encontrada sea diagnosticada con COVID-19\u201d, explica el Cinvestav. De esta forma, cuando una persona indica que esta contagiada de COVID-19, las autoridades del espacio donde se aplique este sistema, pueden identificar los lugares dentro del inmueble donde estuvo esta persona. As\u00ed, se podr\u00e1n as\u00ed dirigir de mejor manera los recursos, y determinar con exactitud a qui\u00e9n se le realiza una prueba de COVID-19, para detectar casos sospechosos r\u00e1pidamente y evitar m\u00e1s contagios. \u201cEn la nueva normalidad es inevitable la interacci\u00f3n con pacientes asintom\u00e1ticos portadores de COVID-19, ya sea en el centro de trabajo, escuela, campus universitarios u hospitales; por lo tanto, es necesario contar con herramientas tecnol\u00f3gicas que permitan notificar a los usuarios de la app y autoridades de la comunidad de posibles contactos con portadores de la infecci\u00f3n\u201d, explic\u00f3 Mancillas L\u00f3pez. As\u00ed mismo, si una persona con la que un usuario tuvo contacto resulta contagiada, el sistema de Applacovid, tambi\u00e9n le notificar\u00e1. La privacidad de los usuarios se protege en todo momento, ya que todos los datos recopilados por la app son an\u00f3nimos y no registra nombres ni datos personales de los usuarios. Este proyecto fue impulsado por la Asociaci\u00f3n Mexicana de Cooperaci\u00f3n Internacional para el Desarrollo, y ha sido instalado en Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad de Ixtapaluca y se instalar\u00e1 en el Centro M\u00e9dico Nacional 20 de noviembre, hospital Ju\u00e1rez, Hospital Civil de Guadalajara y dos hospitales m\u00e1s en Monterrey y M\u00e9rida.
