Digitization in the Latin American health sector has advanced rapidly over the last two years, the challenges brought by the pandemic have driven the integration of technology in the medical sector.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Japanese technology consulting company NTT DATA and MIT Technology Review conducted the study. The transformation in the health sector in Latin America: the digitization of the patient, the change in health services and the opening of the ecosystem<\/em>, whose purpose is to find out how healthcare organizations have adapted to the current situation and how they are developing their digitization processes.<\/p>

The study had as participants 70 companies established in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru, in addition to 30 interviews about digitization processes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

One of the main findings of the study is that the pandemic has reduced the digital divide between the different consumer profiles. In this sense, 60% of the companies consulted in the study stated that more than half of their clients use digital media, a figure that is expected to grow to 80% in the next two years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Likewise, the pandemic has promoted epidemiological surveillance in health companies; at least 36% of the companies participating in the study have such a surveillance system.<\/p>

On the other hand, data analytics has increased its use among Latin American organizations, in countries such as Brazil and Mexico about 83% of organizations use data to create strategies.<\/p>

Regarding the use of mobile applications, the implementation of tools such as telemedicine and chatbot<\/em> doctors, companies have already launched strategies in this area. 95% of the people surveyed highlighted the importance of telemedicine in digital transformation processes.<\/p>

As the authors of the study explain, despite the promising progress in the digitalization journey in the health sector, companies have to solve new challenges to find the balance between the human and digitalization.<\/p>

La digitalizaci\u00f3n en el sector salud latinoamericano ha avanzado con rapidez durante los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os, los retos y desaf\u00edos que trajo la pandemia ha impulsado la integraci\u00f3n de la tecnolog\u00eda en el sector m\u00e9dico. La compa\u00f1\u00eda japonesa de consultor\u00eda en tecnolog\u00eda NTT DATA y MIT Technology Review realizaron el estudio La transformaci\u00f3n en el sector salud en Latinoam\u00e9rica: la digitalizaci\u00f3n del paciente, el cambio de los servicios de salud y la apertura del ecosistema, que tiene como prop\u00f3sito conocer c\u00f3mo se han adaptado las organizaciones sanitarias a la situaci\u00f3n actual y c\u00f3mo se encuentran desarrollando sus procesos de digitalizaci\u00f3n. El estudio tuvo como participantes a 70 empresas establecidas en Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, M\u00e9xico y Per\u00fa, adem\u00e1s de 30 entrevistas sobre los procesos de digitalizaci\u00f3n. Uno de los principales hallazgos del estudio es que la pandemia ha reducido la brecha digital entre los diferentes perfiles de consumidores. En este sentido el 60% de las compa\u00f1\u00edas consultadas en el estudio afirmaron que m\u00e1s de la mitad de sus clientes hacen uso de medios digitales, cifra que est\u00e1 prevista a un crecimiento de hasta 80% en los pr\u00f3ximos dos a\u00f1os. Asimismo, la pandemia ha promovido la vigilancia epidemiol\u00f3gica en las compa\u00f1\u00edas de salud, al menos 36% de las empresas participantes en el estudio cuentan con un sistema de vigilancia de ese tipo. Por otra parte, la anal\u00edtica de datos ha incrementado su uso entre las organizaciones latinoamericanas, en pa\u00edses como Brasil y M\u00e9xico cerca del 83% de las organizaciones hacen uso de datos para crear estrategias. En cuanto al uso de aplicaciones m\u00f3viles, la implementaci\u00f3n de herramientas como la telemedicina y chatbots m\u00e9dicos, las empresas ya han puesto en marcha estrategias en este \u00e1mbito.
