The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) of Guatemala held a technical meeting to discuss and review the latest details of the National Digital Health Strategy, one month after its officialization. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The National Strategy for Digital Health seeks to streamline the processes of care for users of the health system, and the MSPAS is holding the penultimate technical meeting for its review and discussion. The planning of this strategy began more than a year ago and its main purpose is to contribute to the development of new care modalities, as well as the optimization of resources and time in the provision of services.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Likewise, the National Digital Health Strategy will be the document that will regulate and describe the standards for the use of digital technology in health. For example, the plan includes various initiatives such as telemedicine, the digital mobile health strategy in mother tongues, which have already begun to be implemented in some health regions of the country. Likewise, the strategy contemplates the creation and implementation of an electronic patient file.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cThe actions of the National Strategy for Digital Health contribute to the regulations of Decree 5-2021, in relation to administrative processes and the streamlining that the state is committed to doing in the user service processes, in addition to complying with a series of international regulations and agreements that the country has signed\u201d explained Dr. Jos\u00e9 Cano, Primary Health Care Representative.<\/p>

In this sense, the MSPAS foresees that the National Digital Health Strategy will be made official in a month through a Ministerial Agreement, which implies the creation of a new high-level commission to develop the guidelines for its implementation and financing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica y Asistencia Social (MSPAS) de Guatemala, realiz\u00f3 una reuni\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica para la discusi\u00f3n y revisi\u00f3n de los \u00faltimos detalles de la Estrategia Nacional de Salud Digital, a un mes de su oficializaci\u00f3n. La Estrategia Nacional de Salud Digital, busca agilizar los procesos de atenci\u00f3n a los usuarios del sistema de salud, y el MSPAS se encuentra realizando la pen\u00faltima reuni\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica para su revisi\u00f3n y discusi\u00f3n. La planificaci\u00f3n de esta estrategia comenz\u00f3 hace m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o y su principal prop\u00f3sito es contribuir al desarrollo de nuevas modalidades de atenci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la optimizaci\u00f3n de recursos y tiempo en la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios. Asimismo, la Estrategia Nacional de Salud Digital, ser\u00e1 el documento que va a regular y describir las normas para el uso de la tecnolog\u00eda digital en salud. Por ejemplo, el plan incluye diversas iniciativas como la telemedicina, la estrategia de salud m\u00f3vil digital en idiomas maternos, las cuales ya han comenzado a ser implementadas en algunas regiones sanitarias del pa\u00eds. De igual forma la estrategia contempla la creaci\u00f3n e implementaci\u00f3n de un expediente electr\u00f3nico de pacientes. \u201cLas acciones de la Estrategia Nacional de Salud Digital, contribuyen a las regulaciones del Decreto 5-2021, en relaci\u00f3n a procesos administrativos y la agilizaci\u00f3n que el estado est\u00e1 comprometido a hacer en los procesos de atenci\u00f3n a los usuarios, adem\u00e1s de darle cumplimiento a una serie de reglamentos internaciones y convenios que ha firmado el pa\u00eds\u201d explic\u00f3 el Dr. Jos\u00e9 Cano Representante Atenci\u00f3n Primaria en Salud. En este sentido el MSPAS, prev\u00e9 que la Estrategia Nacional de Salud Digital se oficialice en un mes a trav\u00e9s de un Acuerdo Ministerial, lo que implica la creaci\u00f3n de una nueva comisi\u00f3n de alto nivel para desarrollar los lineamientos para su implementaci\u00f3n y financiamiento.
