The Chilean Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, announced the creation of the Geriatrics Cell of the Digital Hospital. This initiative aims to improve access to the elderly, especially primary care, which has been key during the health emergency, and to specialized care in geriatrics.<\/p>

The Digital Hospital is a health care model that is completely focused on the patient, and is based on the use of technologies to provide medical care. This system provides facilities for access to medical care and information for health care. The Digital Hospital has nationwide coverage, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In this way, the Geriatrics Cell of the Digital Hospital will support primary level establishments, which are part of the Healthcare Network. The services offered will be asynchronous or deferred telemedicine. In addition, through the Digital Hospital platform, the professionals of the primary care establishment will be able to consult information and recommendations about each patient remotely with geriatricians and clinical pharmacists.<\/p>

On the other hand, the strategist has the specific objective of improving care and management of morbidities and loss of functionality associated with old age.<\/p>

Una nueva estrategia de Ministerio de Salud (Minsal), propone el uso de tecnolog\u00edas para brindar atenci\u00f3n a pacientes de edad avanzada, desde la atenci\u00f3n primaria hasta la atenci\u00f3n en la especialidad de geriatr\u00eda. El ministro de salud de Chile, Enrique Paris, anunci\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n de la C\u00e9lula de Geriatr\u00eda del Hospital Digital. Esta iniciativa tiene como objetivo mejorar el acceso a las personas mayores, especialmente la atenci\u00f3n primaria, que ha sido clave durante la emergencia sanitaria y a la atenci\u00f3n especializada en geriatr\u00eda. El Hospital Digital, es un modelo de atenci\u00f3n en salud que se centra completamente en el paciente, y se basa en el uso de tecnolog\u00edas para brindar atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Este sistema brinda facilidades para el acceso a la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y a la informaci\u00f3n para el cuidado de la salud. El Hospital Digital cuenta con cobertura a nivel nacional, las 24 horas del d\u00eda, los siete d\u00edas de la semana. En este sentido Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Letelier, jefa del Departamento de Salud Digital del Minsal, llam\u00f3 a la poblaci\u00f3n a utilizar los servicios del Hospital Digital: \u201cSe trata de un complemento al modelo que existe actualmente, no es algo paralelo ni algo distinto, sino que es parte de la Red Integrada del Servicio de Salud\u201d. De esta forma, la C\u00e9lula de Geriatr\u00eda del Hospital Digital, apoyar\u00e1 a establecimientos de nivel primario, que forman parte de la Red Asistencial. Los servicios ofrecidos ser\u00e1n telemedicina asincr\u00f3nica o diferida. Adem\u00e1s, a trav\u00e9s de la plataforma del Hospital Digital, lo profesionales del establecimiento de primer nivel de atenci\u00f3n, podr\u00e1n consultar a distancia con geriatras y farmac\u00e9uticos cl\u00ednicos, informaci\u00f3n y recomendaciones sobre cada paciente. Por otra parte, la estratega, tiene como objetivo especifico mejorar la atenci\u00f3n y manejo de morbilidades y perdida de funcionalidad asociada a la vejez. Finalmente, el Minsal explic\u00f3 que a trav\u00e9s de la C\u00e9lula de Geriatr\u00eda han resuelto m\u00e1s de mil 200 casos en 246 establecimientos, logrando un 89.7% de resolutividad.
