The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) performs the 30% of specialty consultations through telemedicine and remote consultations in two clinics in the State of Mexico.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

ISSSTE implemented its telemedicine services almost three years ago, in 2019. However, as a result of the pandemic, its use has increased considerably. The general director of ISSSTE, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, recently visited medical establishments in the State of Mexico, where he recognized the importance of telemedicine in caring for remote areas, where they do not have access to many medical specialists.<\/p>

At the San Juan Teotihuac\u00e1n Family Medicine Unit (UMF) and the Xalostoc Family Medicine Clinic (CMF) in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, 30% of patients receive their consultation with specialists through telemedicine, thanks to the care of doctors of first level care units.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

"Telemedicine is an ISSSTE program so that beneficiaries who live in remote areas have the best care through medical specialists and equipment necessary for them to be treated virtually," explained the general director of ISSSTE, during his visit to the aforementioned medical establishments.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Likewise, Zenteno explained that he will visit the 1,145 ISSSTE medical units throughout Mexico, to find out what the conditions are and if it is the case, equip them with new technological capacity and medical professionals.<\/p>

The head of ISSSTE also explained that the institute has technology and computer tools that are intended to improve the provision of services. El Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) realiza el 30% de las consultas de especialidad a trav\u00e9s de telemedicina y consultas remotas en dos cl\u00ednicas del Estado de M\u00e9xico. El ISSSTE implement\u00f3 sus servicios de telemedicina desde hace casi tres a\u00f1os, en 2019. Sin embargo, a ra\u00edz de la pandemia, su uso ha incrementado considerablemente. Asimismo, Zenteno, explic\u00f3 que visitar\u00e1 las mil 145 unidades m\u00e9dicas del ISSSTE en todo M\u00e9xico, para conocer cu\u00e1les son las condiciones y si es el caso equipar con nueva capacidad tecnol\u00f3gica y profesionales m\u00e9dicos.
