The Dr. Ernesto Torres Galdames Hospital in Iquique, Chile, began the deployment of a telemedicine strategy to support the diagnosis of Major Congenital Anomalies (MCA).<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The High Obstetric Risk Polyclinic of the Hospital Dr. Ernesto Torres Galdames began the implementation of the pilot strategy Pichipu (near or next in Mapudungun). The objective of this project is that the Public Health Network has at its disposal a synchronous telemedicine system, which allows support in ACM diagnostic tasks taking into account the knowledge of various specialists.<\/p>

El Hospital Dr. Ernesto Torres Galdames de Iquique, en Chile, comenz\u00f3 el despliegue de una estrategia de telemedicina para apoyar en el diagn\u00f3stico de Anomal\u00edas Cong\u00e9nitas Mayores (ACM). El Policl\u00ednico de Alto Riesgo Obst\u00e9trico del Hospital Dr. Ernesto Torres Galdames, comenz\u00f3 la implementaci\u00f3n de la estrategia piloto Pichipu (cercano o pr\u00f3ximo en mapudung\u00fan). El objetivo de este proyecto es que la Red P\u00fablica de Salud tenga a su disposici\u00f3n un sistema de telemedicina sincr\u00f3nico, que permita apoyar en tareas de diagn\u00f3stico de ACM tomando en cuenta los conocimientos de diversos especialistas. \u201cEs un tremendo hito el tener contacto con la experiencia de m\u00e9dicos que hacen diagn\u00f3stico prenatal de alto nivel, y adem\u00e1s contar con recomendaciones en el momento. Ojal\u00e1 que en adelante podamos manejarlo as\u00ed regularmente porque nos ayudar\u00e1 much\u00edsimo a disminuir tiempos de respuesta y traslados de nuestras pacientes\u201d, sostuvo Miguel Est\u00e9vez, m\u00e9dico del servicio de Ginecolog\u00eda y del policl\u00ednico de Alto Riesgo Obst\u00e9trico del Hospital de Iquique. La primera atenci\u00f3n se realiz\u00f3 en conjunto con un equipo multidisciplinario de las instituciones como el Servicio de Salud de Iquique, el Hospital Digital y el hospital S\u00f3tero del R\u00edo. De forma remota desde Santiago, se unieron integrantes de la mesa t\u00e9cnica ministerial en ACM. La paciente, de 20 a\u00f1os de edad y 24 semanas de gestaci\u00f3n, Yeraldine Coimbra fue sometida a un examen telem\u00e1tico. \u201cQu\u00e9 bueno que en el hospital de Iquique se pueda hacer esto, porque hay muchas pacientes que no tienen los recursos para viajar hasta otra ciudad a buscar un mejor diagn\u00f3stico, as\u00ed es que hacerlo desde ac\u00e1 es un beneficio muy importante\u201d, explic\u00f3. Por otra parte, la encargada del Proyecto ACM de la Unidad Hospital Digital del Departamento de Salud Digital, B\u00e1rbara Morales, explic\u00f3 que desde octubre se buscaba dar inicio a este proyecto, sin embargo, fue necesario realizar diversas pruebas de conexi\u00f3n. \u201cLa implementaci\u00f3n de esta estrategia se llevar\u00e1 a cabo en cascada.
