The Pharmacy of the Specialties Office of the Dr. Gustavo Fricke Hospital in Chile has enabled the delivery of medicines through electronic medical prescription.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Fricke Hospital belonging to the Health Service of Vi\u00f1a del Mar-Quillota, has begun to implement the electronic prescription<\/a> to dispense drugs to outpatients.<\/p>

\u00c1ngela Cabello, head of the pharmacy, explained the new characteristics of the medicine delivery process at the pharmacy: \u201cthe doctor now has a computer in his office and from there he accesses a computer system that indicates the name of the medicine that the patient, as well as the dose and some special indication.<\/p>

In this way, the pharmacy receives the information and prepares the medicine to have it ready for delivery to the patient. In this way, the new process shortens waiting times in the preparation of drugs.<\/p>

The head of pharmacy explained that the main benefit of this electronic prescription system is medication safety, since it is read as it is and as it is written and there are no interpretations of the name of the drug and the amount required. Similarly, there are no problems with prescriptions lost by patients, since the information about your medication is already in the pharmacy, and you only have to go to it and request your medications by showing your identification.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Likewise, Daniela Cruz, a pharmaceutical chemist at the Fricke Hospital pharmacy, pointed out that in order to make the delivery of the medicine a safer and easier process to understand, the drugs are delivered with a label "in which the name of the patient appears, the name of the medicine, the monthly amount that should be used and the particular indications of the medicine, very clear and detailed so that the patient understands them\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

However, there are exceptions among the medicines that can be delivered through this electronic medical prescription. For example, psychotropic and narcotic drugs, by regulation, can only be dispensed by delivering a paper prescription, written by the doctor in a special format. Apart from this example, the other medicines can be delivered through the electronic prescription.<\/p>

Users have shared that the electronic prescription system is more practical \u201cbecause with only the RUT (Unique Tax Roll) one withdraws the medicines. La Farmacia del Consultorio de Especialidades del Hospital Dr. Gustavo Fricke en Chile ha habilitado la entrega de medicamentos a trav\u00e9s de receta m\u00e9dica electr\u00f3nica. El Hospital Fricke perteneciente al Servicio de Salud de Vi\u00f1a del Mar-Quillota, ha comenzado a implementar la receta electr\u00f3nica para dispensar medicamentos a pacientes de atenci\u00f3n ambulatoria. \u00c1ngela Cabello, jefa de la farmacia, explic\u00f3 las nuevas caracter\u00edsticas del proceso de entrega de medicamentos en la farmacia: \u201cel m\u00e9dico ahora dispone de un computador en su consulta y desde ah\u00ed accede a un sistema inform\u00e1tico que indica el nombre del medicamento que requiera el paciente, como tambi\u00e9n la dosis y alguna indicaci\u00f3n especial\u201d. De esta forma la farmacia recibe la informaci\u00f3n y prepara el medicamento para tenerlo listo para su entrega al paciente. De esta manera el nuevo proceso acorta los tiempos de espera en la preparaci\u00f3n de los f\u00e1rmacos. La jefa de farmacia explic\u00f3 que el principal beneficio de este sistema de recetas electr\u00f3nicas es la seguridad en la medicaci\u00f3n ya que se lee tal cual y como est\u00e1 escrita y no hay interpretaciones de por medio sobre el nombre del f\u00e1rmaco y la cantidad requerida. De igual forma, no hay problemas con recetas extraviadas por los pacientes, ya que la informaci\u00f3n sobre su medicamento ya se encuentra en la farmacia, y solo debe acudir a esta y solicitar sus medicamentos mostrando su identificaci\u00f3n. Asimismo, Daniela Cruz, qu\u00edmica farmac\u00e9utica en la farmacia del Hospital Fricke se\u00f1al\u00f3 que para que la entrega del medicamento sea un proceso m\u00e1s seguro y f\u00e1cil de entender, los f\u00e1rmacos se entregan con una etiqueta \u201cen la cual aparece el nombre del paciente, el nombre del medicamento, la cantidad mensual que debe ocupar y, las indicaciones particulares del medicamento, bien claras y detalladas para que el paciente las entienda\u201d. Sin embargo, existen excepciones entre los medicamentos que pueden entregarse por medio de esta prescripci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica electr\u00f3nica. Por ejemplo, los psicotr\u00f3picos y estupefacientes, por reglamento solamente pueden ser dispensados entregando una receta de papel, escrita por el m\u00e9dico en un formato especial. Fuera de este ejemplo los dem\u00e1s medicamentos pueden ser entregados por medio de la receta electr\u00f3nica. Usuarios han compartido que el sistema de recetas electr\u00f3nicas es m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctico “porque con solamente el RUT (Rol \u00danico Tributario) uno retira los medicamentos.
