The "Program to Support the Implementation of Telehealth Tools in Uruguay" was made possible thanks to a contribution of USD 500,000 from the Japanese Special Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Japanese Ambassador to Uruguay, representatives of the IDB, the Agency for Electronic Government and the Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC), and the State Health Services Administration (ASSE) were present at the program presentation event. , among others.<\/p>

This cooperation program aims to promote telehealth in Uruguay, as a tool for prevention and care of chronic diseases. As well as to improve the management of non-ambulatory medical emergencies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

from the middle of the year<\/a>, this collaboration had been announced by the ASSE and the Embassy of Japan. One of the previous actions consisted of the donation of equipment to promote the implementation of telemedicine in rural areas of Uruguay. Similarly, on that occasion it was explained that the non-reimbursable funds would be administered by the IDB.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The executive director of AGESIC, Hebert Paguas, thanked Japan for its contribution to carry out this new program and explained that it is necessary for Uruguay to continue with the process of digital transformation through tools such as Telemedicine.<\/p>

Finally, Leonardo Cipriani, president of the ASSE, highlighted the importance of the Support Program for the implementation of Telehealth tools, so that health services reach the most remote communities in Uruguay.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El “Programa de Apoyo a la implementaci\u00f3n de herramientas de Telesalud en Uruguay” fue posible gracias a un aporte de USD 500 mil del Fondo Especial Japon\u00e9s del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) En el evento de la presentaci\u00f3n del programa estuvieron presentes el Embajador de Jap\u00f3n en Uruguay, representantes del BID, de la Agencia de Gobierno Electr\u00f3nico y Sociedad de la Informaci\u00f3n y Conocimiento (AGESIC), de la Administraci\u00f3n de Servicios de Salud del Estado (ASSE), entre otros. Este programa de cooperaci\u00f3n, tiene como objetivo promover la telesalud en Uruguay, como una herramienta de prevenci\u00f3n y de cuidado de enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas. As\u00ed como para mejorar la gesti\u00f3n de emergencias m\u00e9dicas no ambulatorias. Desde mediados del a\u00f1o, esta colaboraci\u00f3n hab\u00eda sido anunciada por la ASSE y la Embajada de Jap\u00f3n. Una de las acciones anteriores consisti\u00f3 en la donaci\u00f3n de equipo para promover la implementaci\u00f3n de telemedicina en zonas rurales de Uruguay.  De igual forma, en aquella ocasi\u00f3n se explic\u00f3 que los fondos no reembolsables ser\u00edan administrados por el BID. El director ejecutivo de AGESIC, Hebert Paguas, agradeci\u00f3 el aporte de Jap\u00f3n para llevar a cabo este nuevo programa y explic\u00f3 que es necesario que Uruguay continue con el proceso de transformaci\u00f3n digital a trav\u00e9s de herramientas como la Telemedicina. Finalmente, Leonardo Cipriani, presidente de la ASSE resalt\u00f3 la importancia del Programa de apoyo a la implementaci\u00f3n de herramientas de Telesalud, para que los servicios de salud lleguen a las comunidades m\u00e1s alejadas de Uruguay.
