In addition, it would be able to work remotely, that is, gynecologists from remote locations take ultrasound images and send them to the Institute of Perinatology, where they would be analyzed by the software to detect alterations.<\/p><p>\u201cThe idea is, through image analysis, to produce a diagnosis. The equipment used was donated by the Huawei company at the end of 2020.<\/p><p>Fabi\u00e1n Romo Zamudio, from the General Directorate of Computing and Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC), recognized the work of the scientists and pointed out the importance of having specialized computer equipment for AI research and development: \u201cWith this infrastructure, with support, the experience of researchers and university professors, alternatives can be found for problems from health aspects, combating poverty, food supply, attention to the challenges of climate change. Por ejemplo, irrigaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea en el cerebro fetal, con im\u00e1genes de ultrasonido doppler que miden directamente el flujo de sangre en el cerebro y el software lo analiza, se hace un estimado y se puede hacer una comparaci\u00f3n del flujo normal contra algo anormal, que ya el experto o la experta recomendar\u00e1\u201d, explic\u00f3 Fernando Ar\u00e1mbula Cos\u00edo, del Instituto de Investigaciones en Matem\u00e1ticas Aplicadas y en Sistemas (IIMAS). El software tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda analizar una medici\u00f3n rutinaria del f\u00e9mur de forma autom\u00e1tica, misma situaci\u00f3n con la circunferencia craneal y el abdomen, que deben ser medidas dentro de los est\u00e1ndares para conocer si el crecimiento est\u00e1 siendo el adecuado. Ar\u00e1mbula Cos\u00edo explic\u00f3 que tambi\u00e9n han desarrollado algoritmos de IA, capaces de mejorar las im\u00e1genes de ultrasonido. Actualmente se encuentran desarrollando un algoritmo que busca medir las contracciones del coraz\u00f3n del feto. \u201cSe puede entrenar un algoritmo con contracciones normales y cuando grabamos el video de un nuevo feto y vemos que la curva se encoge y expande, podr\u00edamos detectar anormalidades respecto a la poblaci\u00f3n normal\u201d, explic\u00f3 el especialista. Sobre este tipo de innovaci\u00f3n y los desaf\u00edos para su progreso el Ar\u00e1mbula Cos\u00edo explic\u00f3 que es necesario contar con equipo de c\u00f3mputo de alto rendimiento. El equipo utilizado fue donado por la compa\u00f1\u00eda Huawei a finales de 2020.
