The Ministry of Health (Minsalud) and Sports and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) are developing a strategy to strengthen the National Health Information System (SNIS) and promote digital transformation in the country.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The SNIS is the public body in Bolivia that provides health information in a timely and reliable manner, it has data from all health services in the state and at the three levels of care. To promote the digitalization of services and offer better management of information related to the COVID-19 pandemic, PAHO and the Ministry of Health inaugurated a situational room and an international interoperability course with HL7.<\/p>

\u201cWe now have a situational room that is equipped, which will allow data analysis and strategic decision-making in what to do about health and that is a high point for the Ministry, since our next decision meetings are going to be in this room taking into account that we have strategic information around us\u201d, explained Dr. Germ\u00e1n Crespo, general director of Planning of the Minsa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On the other hand, the Interoperability with HL7 course promotes the training of professionals in the understanding of standards for the exchange of clinical information, and more. The course will be held at the national level, with the presence of the Departmental Health Services (SEDES), technical managers of the SNIS and engineers who work on improving health software.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On the other hand, Rocco Abruzzese, head of the SNIS-VE (epidemiological surveillance), highlighted the importance of digitization in the system and the implementation of new technological strategies such as information interoperability or standardization. El Ministerio de Salud (Minsalud) y Deportes y la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), se encuentran desarrollando una estrategia para fortalecer el Sistema de Nacional de Informaci\u00f3n en Salud (SNIS) y promover la transformaci\u00f3n digital en el pa\u00eds. El SNIS es el organismo p\u00fablico de Bolivia que proporciona informaci\u00f3n de salud de forma oportuna y confiable, cuenta con datos de todos los servicios de salud del estado y en los tres niveles de atenci\u00f3n.  Para promover la digitalizaci\u00f3n de los servicios y ofrecer una mejor gesti\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n relacionada con la pandemia por COVID-19, la OPS y el Minsalud, inauguraron una sala situacional y un curso internacional de interoperabilidad con HL7. \u201cTenemos ahora una sala situacional que est\u00e1 equipada, que va a permitir el an\u00e1lisis de los datos y la toma de decisiones estrat\u00e9gicas en el que hacer de la salud y que es un punto alto para el Ministerio, ya que nuestras pr\u00f3ximas reuniones de decisi\u00f3n van a ser en esta sala tomando en cuenta que alrededor tengamos informaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica\u201d, explic\u00f3 el Dr. Germ\u00e1n Crespo, director general de Planificaci\u00f3n del Minsa. Por otra parte, el curso de Interoperabilidad con HL7, promueve la formaci\u00f3n de profesionales en la comprensi\u00f3n de los est\u00e1ndares para el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica, y m\u00e1s. El curso se realizar\u00e1 a nivel nacional, con la presencia de los Servicios Departamentales de Salud (SEDES), responsables t\u00e9cnicos del SNIS e ingenieros que trabajan en la mejora del software en salud. \u201cQuiero remarcar que reconocemos al Dr. Rocco Abruzzese el haber aceptado un enfoque de programas y de apoyo que no se l\u00edmite a reemplazar las acciones regulares del Ministerio de Salud.
