The Ministry of Health and Protection (Minsalud) reported that from March 2020 to July of this year they registered 55 million teleconsultations. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Ministry of Health recognized as one of the great challenges of the health emergency to guarantee health care. However, through teleconsultations it was possible for citizens to have access to health services during the pandemic. In March 2020, they managed to carry out more than 443 thousand remote consultations, however, the accumulated figure from March 2020 to June exceeded expectations and reached 55 million teleconsultations.<\/p>

"For the month of July 2021, the activities carried out reached 2.67 million, with a decrease of 658,000 visits compared to June 2021," explained John Manuel Delgado, Director of Service Provision at the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The most frequent visits were related to common illnesses and follow-up care for patients with chronic conditions. These represent more than 50% of the teleconsultations, according to Delgado. On the other hand, 24% of the teleconsultations were recorded as consultations with specialists.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

"This has been a process that has allowed us to guarantee access to health services and that leaves us learning and challenges for the future in the country's health, with the aim that these channels are maintained and continue to be strengthened," Delgado commented.<\/p>

Actions in telemedicine and teleconsultations were possible thanks to the implementation of Resolution 521 of 2020, which aimed to guarantee access to health services during isolation measures.<\/p>

El Ministerio de Salud y Protecci\u00f3n (Minsalud), report\u00f3 que desde marzo de 2020 a julio de este a\u00f1o registraron 55 millones de teleconsultas. El Minsalud, reconoci\u00f3 como uno de los grandes desaf\u00edos de la emergencia sanitaria el garantizar la atenci\u00f3n en salud. Sin embargo, a trav\u00e9s de teleconsultas fue posible que los ciudadanos tuvieran acceso a servicios de salud durante la pandemia. En marzo de 2020 lograron realizar m\u00e1s de 443 mil consultas a distancia, no obstante, la cifra acumulada de mazo de 2020 a junio super\u00f3 las expectativas y alcanzaron los 55 millones de teleconsultas. “Para el mes de julio de 2021 las actividades realizadas llegaron a 2,67 millones, con una disminuci\u00f3n de 658 mil atenciones respecto de junio de 2021”, explic\u00f3 John Manuel Delgado, director de Prestaci\u00f3n de Servicios del Minsalud. Las atenciones m\u00e1s recurrentes estuvieron relacionadas con enfermedades comunes y atenci\u00f3n de control de pacientes con condiciones cr\u00f3nicas. Estas representan m\u00e1s de 50% de las teleconsultas seg\u00fan explic\u00f3 Delgado. Por otra parte, un 24% de las teleconsultas se registraron como atenciones con especialistas. \u201cEste ha sido un proceso que nos ha permitido garantizar el acceso a los servicios de salud y que nos deja aprendizajes y retos de cara al futuro en la salud del pa\u00eds, con el objetivo de que estos canales se mantengan y se sigan fortaleciendo\u201d, coment\u00f3 Delgado. Las acciones en telemedicina y teleconsultas fueron posibles gracias a la implementaci\u00f3n de la Resoluci\u00f3n 521 de 2020, que tuvo como objetivo garantizar el acceso a servicios de salud durante las medidas de aislamiento.
