The telemedicine service of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Sinaloa has streamlined patient care during the pandemic.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The telemedicine program at IMSS in Sinaloa began operating in July 2017, four years ago, and during the COVID-19 pandemic it has been of the utmost importance to continue providing services remotely and avoid contagion in patients and medical personnel.<\/p>

Currently the telemedicine program in the state operates in 14 IMSS medical units in Sinaloa. And it went from being a complementary service to being key for clinics and medical units.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Dr. Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez, is in charge of the Auxiliary Coordination of the First Level of Care at the IMSS in Sinaloa, and explained that the speed of care, the reduction of risks for patients and savings by patients are the main results of the program.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the moment they work under a scheme of three care modalities, explains Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez: "The first and the one that began in July 2017 is focused on greater problem solving, we are talking about a highly specialized medical unit, a third level. The second modality is digital, through video calls, the aim is to serve people who for some reason cannot go to a medical unit.<\/p>

The third option is the telephone consultation, which was implemented as a result of the pandemic. Through telephone consultations, they have managed to serve more than 3,000 patients in a week. "This option arose due to the pandemic, difficulty for people to move due to risk, through the call a monitoring of the patient's health is carried out," concluded the person in charge.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El servicio te telemedicina del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) en Sinaloa ha agilizado la atenci\u00f3n a pacientes durante la pandemia. El programa de telemedicina en IMSS en Sinaloa comenz\u00f3 a operar en julio de 2017, hace cuatro a\u00f1os y durante la pandemia de COVID-19 ha sido de suma importancia para continuar con la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios a distancia y evitar contagios en pacientes y personal m\u00e9dico. Actualmente el programa de telemedicina en el estado opera en 14 unidades m\u00e9dicas del IMSS en Sinaloa. Y pas\u00f3 de ser un servicio complementario a ser clave para las cl\u00ednicas y unidades m\u00e9dicas. El Dr. Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez, es el encargado de la Coordinaci\u00f3n Auxiliar de Primer Nivel de Atenci\u00f3n en el IMSS en Sinaloa, y explic\u00f3 que la rapidez en la atenci\u00f3n, la reducci\u00f3n de riesgos para los pacientes y el ahorro por parte de los pacientes son los principales resultados del programa. Por el momento trabajan bajo un esquema de tres modalidades de atenci\u00f3n, explica Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez: \u201cLa primera y la que inici\u00f3 desde julio del a\u00f1o 2017 es la enfocada a una mayor resoluci\u00f3n de problemas, estamos hablando de unidad m\u00e9dica de alta especialidad, de tercer nivel. La segunda modalidad es la digital, a trav\u00e9s de una video llamadas se busca atender a personas que por alg\u00fan motivo no pueden acudir a una unidad m\u00e9dica\u201d. La tercera opci\u00f3n es la consulta telef\u00f3nica, que se implementaron a ra\u00edz de la pandemia. Mediante las consultas telef\u00f3nicas, han logrado atender m\u00e1s de 3 mil pacientes en una semana. \u201cEsta opci\u00f3n surgi\u00f3 con motivo de la pandemia, dificultad de las personas para trasladarse por motivo del riesgo, mediante la llamada se realiza un monitoreo de la salud del paciente\u201d, concluy\u00f3 el encargado.
