The National Center for Technological Excellence in Health (CENETEC) developed an analysis of the platforms used for telemedicine services in Mexico. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The analysis was carried out based on technical information provided by health providers between November 2019 and June 2020. In addition, it takes into account the different services that telemedicine considers, such as teleconsultation, interconsultation, medical advice and remote monitoring. On the other hand, it takes into account technical issues related to clinical information and software.<\/p>

The analysis shows the currently existing platforms in the federal health system in Mexico, reviewing technical characteristics. However, it is not an evaluation or certification document for the platforms.<\/p>

\u201cIn the case of the teleconsultation service, diagnostic interpretation and remote monitoring, the telemedicine software must have the capacity to integrate physiological measurements, diagnostic images and other patient information, according to the medical devices to be used, in order to help in clinical decision making\u201d, explains the text.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In this way, it is recommended that the system has the option of registering different user profiles, so that it can be used by different departments of the health center. In addition, its use should be promoted among general practitioners, specialists, nurses, care coordinators, and patients.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The variables identified by CENETEC to provide services through telemedicine in terms of functionality and considering the existing resources were the following: \u00a0<\/p>

    Some of the general notes made by CENETEC were the following: "Most of the solutions have the videoconferencing application integrated, or it is possible to manage this functionality, so it gives an advantage not to implement videoconferencing systems separately". And that more than 60% of the platforms offer their services through annual or monthly license rental payments, which facilitates the initial investment for its implementation.<\/p>

    El Centro Nacional de Excelencia Tecnol\u00f3gica en Salud (CENETEC) desarroll\u00f3 un an\u00e1lisis de las plataformas utilizadas para servicios de telemedicina en M\u00e9xico. El an\u00e1lisis fue realizado tomando como base informaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica proporcionada por proveedores de salud entre noviembre de 2019 y junio de 2020. Adem\u00e1s, toma en cuenta los diferentes servicios que considera la telemedicina, como la teleconsulta, la interconsulta, asesor\u00eda m\u00e9dica y monitoreo a distancia. Por otra parte, toma en cuenta cuestiones t\u00e9cnicas relacionadas la informaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica y software. El an\u00e1lisis muestra las plataformas existentes actualmente en el sistema de salud federal en M\u00e9xico, revisando caracter\u00edsticas t\u00e9cnicas. Sin embargo, no se trata de un documento de evaluaci\u00f3n o certificaci\u00f3n de las plataformas. “Para el caso del servicio de teleconsulta, interpretaci\u00f3n diagn\u00f3stica y monitoreo a distancia, el software de telemedicina deber\u00e1 tener la capacidad de integrar mediciones fisiol\u00f3gicas, im\u00e1genes de diagn\u00f3stico y otra informaci\u00f3n del paciente, seg\u00fan los dispositivos m\u00e9dicos a utilizar, a fin de ayudar en la toma de decisiones cl\u00ednicas”, explica el texto. De esta forma se recomienda que el sistema cuente con la opci\u00f3n de registrar diferentes perfiles de usuario, para que pueda ser utilizado por distintos departamentos del centro de salud. Adem\u00e1s, se debe promover su uso entre m\u00e9dicos generales, especialistas, enfermeras, coordinadores de atenci\u00f3n y pacientes. Las variables identificadas por el CENETEC prestar servicios a trav\u00e9s de telemedicina en cuanto a funcionalidad y considerando los recursos existentes fueron los siguientes:   Videoconferencia Manejo de diferentes perfiles Agenda Programaci\u00f3n de citas Resumen cl\u00ednico Control de tratamientos Tratamiento de im\u00e1genes, audio, video y datos de equipos biom\u00e9dicos Intercambio de archivos Interoperabilidad con otros sistemas Base de datos Recetas electr\u00f3nicas Chat Seguridad Aplicaci\u00f3n m\u00f3vil Algunas de las anotaciones generales realizadas por el CENETEC fueron las siguientes: \u201cLa mayor\u00eda de las soluciones tienen integrado la aplicaci\u00f3n de videoconferencia, o es posible gestionar esta funcionalidad, por lo que da ventaja para no implementar sistemas de videoconferencia por separado\u201d.
