The findings were published in PLOS Computational Biology, under the title &quot;Basic Profile Curve Identification for Understanding the Effects of Electrical Stimulation on Human Brain Networks.&quot;<\/p><p>\u201cThe identification base profile curve\u201d was the algorithm developed because there are no mathematical techniques to classify and characterize how brain networks interact with each other, using real-world data.<\/p><p>The study involved a patient with a brain tumor, who was fitted with an electrocorticographic electrode array for mapping of brain function before and after the tumor was removed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-489ea537 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no wpr-parallax-no wpr-sticky-section-no\" data-id=\"489ea537\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-164eacd6\" data-id=\"164eacd6\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-406de5e5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"406de5e5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>&quot;Our findings show that this new type of algorithm can help us understand which brain regions directly interact with each other, which in turn can help guide electrode placement to stimulate devices to treat networked brain diseases,&quot; explained Dr. Kai J. El estudio cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de un paciente con un tumor cerebral, a quien le fue colocado una matriz de electrodos electrocorticogr\u00e1ficos para el trazado de un mapa de la funci\u00f3n cerebral antes y despu\u00e9s de extirpar el tumor. \u201cNuestros hallazgos muestran que este nuevo tipo de algoritmo puede ayudarnos a comprender qu\u00e9 regiones del cerebro interact\u00faan directamente entre s\u00ed, lo que a su vez puede ayudar a guiar la colocaci\u00f3n de electrodos para estimular dispositivos para tratar enfermedades del cerebro en red\u201d, explic\u00f3 el Dr. Kai J.
