The General Directorate of Telehealth, Reference and Emergencies (Digtel) of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), of Peru, reported the total numbers of telemedicine consultations during the first seven months of the year.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

According to official figures registered by Digtel, from January to July of this year, 9,898,634 telemedicine consultations were carried out. Coordination between local, departmental and national health authorities was the key to reaching that figure.<\/p>

"There is no way to unify health unless it is done through the digitization of our services and the consolidation of Telehealth as a new model of remote care, on a national scale," explained Fernando Carbone, who works as an office advisor at the Minsa.<\/p>

Beyond telemedicine teleconsultations, the Minsa has also promoted special attention in teletraining and Tele IEC (Information, Education and Communication).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On the other hand, the adoption of electronic medical records and electronic prescriptions continues to advance, however, the authorities recognize the need to digitize the health system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the national level, the hospital with the highest number of teleconsultations provided was Hospital Santa Rosa in Lima. In terms of teletraining, the National Institute of Children's Health was one of the most outstanding in terms of total staff training. In Tele IEC it was the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, the one with the best figures during this period.<\/p>

From 2017 to the present, the Directorate of Telemedicine has registered more than 2,600 health establishments in the National Telehealth Network, belonging to regional governments, the Minsa, the National Penitentiary Institute, the Army and the Navy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

La Direcci\u00f3n General de Telesalud, Referencia y Urgencias (Digtel) del Ministerio de Salud (Minsa), de Per\u00fa, inform\u00f3 las cifras totales de consultas de telemedicina durante los primeros siete meses del a\u00f1o. De acuerdo a las cifras oficiales registradas por la Digtel, de enero a julio de este a\u00f1o fueron realizadas 9 millones 898 mil 634 consultas por telemedicina. La coordinaci\u00f3n entre autoridades de salud locales, departamentales y nacionales fue la clave para alcanzar esa cifra. “No hay una forma de unificar la salud sino se realiza mediante la digitalizaci\u00f3n de nuestros servicios y de la consolidaci\u00f3n de la Telesalud como nuevo modelo de atenci\u00f3n a distancia, a escala nacional”, explic\u00f3 Fernando Carbone quien se desempe\u00f1a como asesor de despacho en el Minsa. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las teleconsultas por telemedicina, el Minsa tambi\u00e9n ha impulsado atenci\u00f3n especial en tele capacitaci\u00f3n y Tele IEC (Informaci\u00f3n, Educaci\u00f3n y Comunicaci\u00f3n). Por otra parte, la adopci\u00f3n de la historia cl\u00ednica electr\u00f3nica, y la receta electr\u00f3nica contin\u00faa avanzando, sin embargo, las autoridades reconocen la necesidad de digitalizar el sistema de salud. A nivel nacional el hospital con mayor n\u00famero de teleconsultas brindadas fue el Hospital Santa Rosa en Lima. En cuanto a tele capacitaci\u00f3n el Instituto Nacional de Salud del Ni\u00f1o fue uno de los m\u00e1s sobresalientes en total de capacitaciones al personal. En Tele IEC fue el Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neopl\u00e1sicas, el de mejores cifras durante este periodo. Desde el 2017 hasta la actualidad la Direcci\u00f3n de Telemedicina, ha registrado a m\u00e1s de 2 mil 600 establecimientos de salud en la Red Nacional de Telesalud, pertenecientes a gobiernos regionales, al Minsa, al Instituto Nacional Penitenciario, al Ej\u00e9rcito y a la Marina.
