In the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, they have implemented various strategies for the promotion of Digital Health through organizations and agencies that promote investments and collaborations to strengthen it. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

These countries are leaders in America and Europe in the use and adoption of Digital Health technologies. Through government agencies and bodies, as well as private investments, Digital Health projects have been successfully implemented.<\/p>

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) created the Digital Health Center of Excellence (DHCoE) last year. Which aims to empower stakeholders in digital health projects by providing scientific expertise and technological and policy advice to support decision-making processes.<\/p>

The DHCoE considers ten criteria that can be considered when determining if an innovation is valid as a Digital Health solution: Software as a medical device (SaMD), Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, cloud storage, cyber security, interoperability, Data systems Medical Device Management (MDDS), Mobile Medical Applications (MMA), Wireless (wifi, bluetooth, NFC), new technology not yet approved or filed with the FDA.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On the other hand, in June of this year the United States government announced the creation of a new digital health program called the Public Health Informatics and Technology Workforce Development Program (PHIT Workforce Program). The initial investment will be 80 million dollars, to strengthen data science in public health. One of the main objectives is the training of more than 4,000 professionals in four years, focusing on informatics and public health technology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service (NHS) since 2016 created a program dedicated to promoting innovations in health. The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, has achieved collaborations with important international companies such as IBM or Deloitte. In addition, it has established Digital Health programs in ten hospitals in the United Kingdom, which has led them to connect with universities and hospitals in other countries, among other organizations.<\/p>

In the first four years of the program, more than 500 clinical professionals were recruited and 247 startups related to health sciences were created. More than 30 million patients and users have benefited so far.<\/p>

In Canada, specifically in Ontario, the Canadian Network for Digital Health Assessment was created by local government, the Center for Digital Evaluation (CNDHE) and other partners. The objective of creating a network is to evaluate the effectiveness "around digital health interventions on access, quality and equity of care," explains the CNDHE.<\/p>

The Canadian Agency for Medicines and Technologies in Health (CADTH) explains: \u201cAs we look ahead to the recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that virtual care will continue to play an important role in address waiting times, reduce health system costs and improve the patient care experience\u201d, highlighting the benefits of the virtual care modality. However, they consider that in the absence of evidence on the impact of health interventions, comprehensive and clinically relevant evaluations are necessary.<\/p>

\u201cOver the next two years, the CNDHE will develop a strategy for the evaluation of digital health across Canada and build the necessary infrastructure to evaluate the significant federal and provincial investments made in digital health\u201d, in this way the researchers will be able to take advantage of the creation of a standardized, collaborative evaluation framework with common objectives.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

En Estados Unidos, Reino Unido y Canad\u00e1, han implementado diversas estrategias para la promoci\u00f3n de la Salud Digital a trav\u00e9s de organismos y agencias que impulsan inversiones y colaboraciones para su fortalecimiento. Estos pa\u00edses son l\u00edderes en Am\u00e9rica y Europa en el uso y adopci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital. A trav\u00e9s de agencias y organismos de gobierno, as\u00ed como inversiones privadas, proyectos de Salud Digital se han implementado con \u00e9xito. En Estados Unidos la Administraci\u00f3n de Medicamentos y Alimentos (FDA, en ingl\u00e9s), cre\u00f3 el a\u00f1o pasado el Centro de Excelencia de Salud Digital (DHCoE, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s). El cual tiene como objetivo empoderar a las partes interesadas en proyectos de salud digital proporcionando experiencia cient\u00edfica y asesoramiento tecnol\u00f3gico y de pol\u00edticas para respaldar los procesos de toma de decisiones. El DHCoE considera diez criterios que pueden considerarse al momento de determinar si una innovaci\u00f3n es v\u00e1lida como soluci\u00f3n de Salud Digital: Software como dispositivo m\u00e9dico (SaMD), Anal\u00edtica avanzada, Inteligencia Artificial, almacenamiento en la nube, seguridad cibern\u00e9tica, interoperabilidad, Sistemas de datos de dispositivos m\u00e9dicos (MDDS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), Aplicaciones m\u00e9dicas m\u00f3viles (MMA), Conexi\u00f3n inal\u00e1mbrica (wifi, bluetooth, NFC), tecnolog\u00eda novedosa a\u00fan no aprobada ni presentada ante la FDA. Por otro lado, en junio de este a\u00f1o el gobierno de Estados Unidos inform\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n de un nuevo programa de salud digital denominado Programa de Desarrollo de la Fuerza Laboral de Tecnolog\u00eda e Inform\u00e1tica de Salud P\u00fablica (PHIT Workforce Program, en ingl\u00e9s). La inversi\u00f3n inicial ser\u00e1 de 80 millones de d\u00f3lares, para el fortalecimiento de la ciencia de datos en la salud p\u00fablica. Uno de los objetivos principales es la capacitaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 4 mil profesionales en cuatro a\u00f1os, enfoc\u00e1ndose en inform\u00e1tica y tecnolog\u00eda de salud p\u00fablica. En Reino Unido, el Servicio Nacional de Salud, (NHS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), desde el 2016 cre\u00f3 un programa dedicado a impulsar innovaciones en salud. El NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, ha logrado colaboraciones con importantes compa\u00f1\u00edas internacionales como IBM o Deloitte. Adem\u00e1s, ha establecido programas de Salud Digital en diez hospitales en Reino Unido, lo que los ha llevado a conectarse con universidades y hospitales de otros pa\u00edses, entre otras organizaciones. En los primeros cuatro a\u00f1os del programa, fueron reclutados m\u00e1s de 500 profesionales cl\u00ednicos y fueron creadas 247 startups relacionadas con ciencias de la salud. M\u00e1s de 30 millones de pacientes y usuarios se han visto beneficiados hasta el momento. En Canad\u00e1, espec\u00edficamente en Ontario, fue creada por el gobierno local, el Centre for Digital Evaluation, (CNDHE, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) y otros socios, la Red canadiense para la evaluaci\u00f3n de la salud digital. El objetivo de crear una red es evaluar la efectividad “en torno a intervenciones de salud digital sobre el acceso, la calidad y la equidad de la atenci\u00f3n”, explica el CNDHE. La Agencia Canadiense de Medicamentos y Tecnolog\u00edas en Salud (CADTH, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), explica lo siguiente: “Al mirar hacia la fase de recuperaci\u00f3n de la pandemia de COVID-19, sabemos que la atenci\u00f3n virtual seguir\u00e1 desempe\u00f1ando un papel importante para abordar los tiempos de espera, reducir los costos del sistema de salud y mejorar la experiencia de atenci\u00f3n del paciente\u201d, resaltando los beneficios de la modalidad virtual de atenci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, consideran que ante la falta de pruebas en el impacto de las intervenciones de salud son necesarias las evaluaciones exhaustivas y cl\u00ednicamente relevantes. “Durante los pr\u00f3ximos dos a\u00f1os, la CNDHE desarrollar\u00e1 una estrategia para la evaluaci\u00f3n de la salud digital en todo Canad\u00e1 y construir\u00e1 la infraestructura necesaria para evaluar las importantes inversiones federales y provinciales realizadas en salud digital”, de esta forma los investigadores podr\u00e1n aprovechar la creaci\u00f3n de un marco de evaluaci\u00f3n estandarizado, colaborativo y con objetivos en com\u00fan.
