The National Telemedicine Center (CENATE of EsSalud) has the capacity to carry out at least 100,000 virtual consultations per month, however, in June of this year almost 160,000 remote visits were registered.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The National Center for Telemedicine<\/a> of EsSalud in Peru, was inaugurated in October 2020 and has already carried out a total of one million 800 thousand remote services. In the nine months of operation, teleconsultations have been carried out in more than 20 medical specialties, addressed to different regions and departments of the country.<\/p>

Dr. Sergio Machado, director of CENATE explained that "The growing implementation of the telemedicine service in Social Security has made it possible to diagnose, treat and monitor more than one million policyholders, from Lima to the entire country."<\/p>

He also highlighted the importance of having a virtual care system during the pandemic, which has allowed EsSalud to offer timely service to its policyholders even from a distance. Even among the CENATE services is the virtual monitoring of patients who have overcome COVID-19 who receive physical and pulmonary rehabilitation therapies such as breathing and resistance exercises.<\/p>

Similarly, specialists in psychology, provide support to patients and families, for the recovery of emotional health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

However, one of the most used services is Teleradiology, through which X-ray readings, CT scans, mammograms, among others, are performed daily for the timely diagnosis of diseases. El Centro Nacional de Telemedicina (CENATE de EsSalud, tiene la capacidad de realizar al menos 100 mil consultas virtuales al mes, sin embargo, en junio de este a\u00f1o se registraron casi 160 mil atenciones a distancia. Tambi\u00e9n destac\u00f3 la importancia de contar con un sistema de atenci\u00f3n virtual durante la pandemia, lo que ha permitido que EsSalud, ofrezca un servicio oportuno a sus asegurados incluso a la distancia. Incluso entre los servicios del CENATE est\u00e1 el monitoreo virtual a pacientes que superaron al COVID-19 quienes reciben terapias de rehabilitaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica y pulmonar como ejercicios de respiraci\u00f3n y resistencia. De igual forma especialistas en psicolog\u00eda, brindan acompa\u00f1amiento a pacientes y familiares, para la recuperaci\u00f3n de la salud emocional. Sin embargo, uno de los servicios m\u00e1s utilizados es la Teleradiolog\u00eda, a trav\u00e9s del cual se realizan diariamente lecturas de radiograf\u00eda, tomograf\u00edas, mamograf\u00edas entre otras, para el diagn\u00f3stico oportuno de enfermedades. Desde la apertura del CENATE han realizado m\u00e1s de 148 mil lecturas de im\u00e1genes de pacientes en regiones como Piura, Ica, Ancash, entre otras. \u201cLa implementaci\u00f3n del servicio de telemedicina, no solo genera el acceso a servicios especializados desde regiones remotas, sino que tambi\u00e9n garantiza una atenci\u00f3n oportuna y evita que, en estos tiempos de pandemia, el paciente se traslade hasta un establecimiento de salud m\u00e1s cercano o viaje a Lima para tratarse de alguna enfermedad\u201d, explic\u00f3 el director del CENATE.
