On July 22, health authorities inaugurated the first Telemedicine Center in the department of Piura, in the northwest of the country.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Since May of this year, EsSalud's Piura Assistance Network reported on the inauguration of the first Telemedicine center in the Piura Region, located in Hospital III Jos\u00e9 Cayetano Heredia, belonging to EsSalud Piura.<\/p>

Dr. Milagritos S\u00e1nchez Reto, director of the hospital, explained last May that the Telemedicine Center would have a digital platform for specialized and timely health care. \u201cThe person will be able to request their appointment by phone and when they have the indicated date, the patient will be treated without having to move, they will only need their cell phone to be able to generate an interaction with our health personnel,\u201d he commented.<\/p>

The new Telemedicine Center has nine boxes and seven cabins for consultations and remote guidance, which will be interconnected with the National Center for Telemedicine<\/a> which is located in Lima. Likewise, it was equipped with multidisciplinary and specialized teams to provide care in psychology, radiology, pulmonology, cardiology, oncology, family medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, traumatology, urology, infectology, otolaryngology, endocrinology, pain therapy and pediatrics.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The executive president of EsSalud, Fiorella Molinelli, explained that this action will benefit more than 600,000 EsSalud policyholders: \u201cThe 658,000 policyholders in the Piura region will be able to access the digital platform and from the comfort of their homes receive specialized care in real time, quality and opportune\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On the other hand, Dr. Jos\u00e9 C\u00e9spedes, manager of the Piura Assistance Network, highlighted the importance of this type of service to provide greater accessibility to health services to the population of the region: "The most important thing is the opportunity of attention; that is, I can shorten the time of a referral and thanks to this center, the attention can be the same day if it is an urgency or emergency. We can interact with a patient who is in Huancabamba or Ayabaca so that they have a timely diagnosis or define whether or not it is necessary for them to go to their nearest establishment or to our hospital\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El 22 de julio autoridades sanitarias, inauguraron el primer Centro de Telemedicina en el departamento de Piura, al noroeste del pa\u00eds. Desde mayo de este a\u00f1o, la Red Asistencial Piura de EsSalud inform\u00f3 sobre la inauguraci\u00f3n del primer centro de Telemedicina en la Regi\u00f3n de Piura, ubicado en el Hospital III Jos\u00e9 Cayetano Heredia, perteneciente a EsSalud Piura. La Dra. Milagritos S\u00e1nchez Reto, directora del hospital, explic\u00f3 en mayo pasado que el Centro de Telemedicina contar\u00eda con una plataforma digital para la atenci\u00f3n especializada y oportuna de la salud. \u201cLa persona podr\u00e1 pedir su cita por tel\u00e9fono y cuando tenga la fecha indicada, el paciente ser\u00e1 atendido sin necesidad de movilizarse, solo necesitar\u00e1 su tel\u00e9fono celular para poder generar una interacci\u00f3n con nuestro personal de salud\u201d, coment\u00f3. El nuevo Centro de Telemedicina cuenta con nueve boxes y siete cabinas para consultas y tele orientaci\u00f3n, que se interconectar\u00e1n con el Centro Nacional de Telemedicina que se encuentra en Lima. Asimismo, fue equipado con equipos multidisciplinarios y especializados para brindar atenci\u00f3n en psicolog\u00eda, radiolog\u00eda, neumolog\u00eda, cardiolog\u00eda, oncolog\u00eda, medicina familiar, gastroenterolog\u00eda, neurolog\u00eda, traumatolog\u00eda, urolog\u00eda, infectolog\u00eda, otorrino, endocrinolog\u00eda, terapia del dolor y pediatr\u00eda. La presidenta ejecutiva de EsSalud, Fiorella Molinelli, explic\u00f3 que esta acci\u00f3n beneficiar\u00e1 a m\u00e1s de 600 mil asegurados de EsSalud: \u201cLos 658 mil asegurados de la regi\u00f3n Piura, podr\u00e1n acceder a la plataforma digital y desde la comodidad de sus hogares recibir atenciones especializadas en tiempo real, de calidad y oportunas\u201d. Por otra parte, el Dr. Jos\u00e9 C\u00e9spedes, gerente de la Red Asistencial Piura, resalt\u00f3 la importancia de este tipo de servicios para brindar mayor accesibilidad a los servicios de salud a la poblaci\u00f3n de la regi\u00f3n: \u201cLo m\u00e1s importante es la oportunidad de la atenci\u00f3n; es decir, puedo acortar el tiempo de una referencia y gracias a este centro, la atenci\u00f3n puede ser el mismo d\u00eda si es una urgencia o emergencia.
