The Vice President of Ecuador, Alfredo Borrero announced during his participation in the IV International Congress Smart City Ecuador 2021, the possibility of including the electronic medical record (EHR) in the identification card.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Identity Card in Ecuador is an identification document used both to carry out procedures such as opening bank accounts, and to vote in elections. This certificate is obtained through a procedure in the Civil Registry office, which are located in cities throughout the country.<\/p>

Vice President Borrero announced the possibility of implementing the HCE within the chip of the identity card. This proposal seeks that, in case of accidents or illness, the bearer of the card receives adequate treatment according to their medical history. Borrero recognizes the importance of adopting digital and technological tools within the health system in Ecuador. \u201cThe current trend is E-Health. In other words, digital health, with several points of technological interconnection to serve the citizen. The electronic medical record in your identity card is an important benefit. On the other hand, the vice president pointed out that the government is working to bring free Wi-Fi to places throughout the country: \u201cBy the end of the year we will not have, ever again, in Ecuador, disconnected communities. It is our most ambitious goal.\u201d<\/p>

El vicepresidente de Ecuador, Alfredo Borrero anunci\u00f3 durante su participaci\u00f3n en el IV Congreso Internacional Smart City Ecuador 2021, la posibilidad de incluir la historia cl\u00ednica electr\u00f3nica (HCE) en la c\u00e9dula de identificaci\u00f3n. Esta c\u00e9dula se obtiene a trav\u00e9s de un tr\u00e1mite en oficina del Registro Civil, las cuales se encuentran en ciudades de todo el pa\u00eds. El vicepresidente Borrero, anunci\u00f3 la posibilidad de implementar la HCE dentro del chip de la c\u00e9dula de identidad. Esta propuesta busca que, en caso de accidentes o enfermedad, el portador de la c\u00e9dula reciba un tratamiento adecuado de acuerdo a sus antecedentes m\u00e9dicos. Especialmente cuando en caso de accidente la persona no se encuentra en su lugar de origen. Borrero reconoce la importancia de la adopci\u00f3n de herramientas dig\u00edtales y tecnol\u00f3gicas dentro del sistema de salud en Ecuador. \u201cLa tendencia actual es el E-Health. Es decir, la salud digital, con varios puntos de interconexi\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica para atender al ciudadano. La historia cl\u00ednica electr\u00f3nica en su c\u00e9dula de identidad es un importante beneficio. Si la persona se encuentra en una ciudad alejada, los m\u00e9dicos que lo atienden pueden saber mejor qu\u00e9 le pasa\u201d, explic\u00f3. Por otra parte, el vicepresidente se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el gobierno se encuentra trabajando para llevar wifi gratuito a plazas de todo el pa\u00eds: \u201cPara finales del a\u00f1o no tendremos, nunca m\u00e1s, en Ecuador, comunidades desconectadas.
