The Telemedicine project, "I Take Care of You" implemented by Telesalud University of Caldas, the Territorial Directorate of Health and the Government of Caldas, was born from the detection of the first cases of COVID-19 in Colombia, and has provided remote care and monitoring to the inhabitants of the region.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The University of Caldas reported that since the detection of the first case of COVID-19 in Colombia, the joint telemedicine project with the Health Territory and the Caldas government has managed to benefit more than 1 million people thanks to the agreement with different providers of services, and 300 thousand people thanks to the collaborative services of the three parties involved in this initiative.<\/p>

Telemedicine services have included care and support on COVID-19, telepsychology, remote monitoring of patients recovering from COVID-19 from their homes, among others.<\/p>

In addition, the telemedicine plan in Caldas has been strengthened thanks to the Telemedicine Route strategy, which aims to bring specialized care to the most remote areas of the department of Caldas. In this way they prevent people who live in remote areas from making long trips to health centers in the cities of the department.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Esteban Granada, director of Telehealth, explained the importance that this service represents for the population of rural municipalities: "people from the countryside are the most benefited, those who have unbalanced pathologies and incomplete treatments, and thanks to the Telemedicine Route they have been able to access medical specialties such as internal medicine, psychiatry, neurology, pediatrics, nutrition, psychology and dermatology, among others, from their territories.\u201d<\/p>

On the other hand, on the Telesalud coronavirus platform, the authorities have managed to train 5,000 health professionals through online courses on topics such as dealing with COVID-19, palliative care for COVID patients, vaccination, among others. Additionally, nearly 600 people have taken the ABC training course for good living, which promotes the use of tools for the effective management of emotions and psychological first aid.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

El proyecto de Telemedicina, \u201cTe Cuido\u201d implementado por Telesalud Universidad de Caldas, la Direcci\u00f3n Territorial de Salud y Gobernaci\u00f3n de Caldas, naci\u00f3 desde la detecci\u00f3n de los primeros casos de COVID-19 en Colombia, y ha brindado atenci\u00f3n y monitoreo a distancia a los habitantes de la regi\u00f3n. La Universidad de Caldas inform\u00f3 que desde la detecci\u00f3n del primer caso de COVID-19 en Colombia, el proyecto de telemedicina conjunto con la Territorial de Salud y el gobierno caldense, ha logrado beneficiar a m\u00e1s de 1 mill\u00f3n de personas gracias al convenio con diferentes prestadores de servicios, y a 300 mil personas gracias a los servicios colaborativos de las tres partes involucradas en esta iniciativa. Los servicios de telemedicina han incluido atenci\u00f3n y acompa\u00f1amiento sobre COVID-19, telepsicolog\u00eda, monitoreo remoto de pacientes que se recuperan de COVID-19 desde sus casas, entre otros. Adem\u00e1s, el plan de telemedicina en Caldas se ha fortalecido gracias a la estrategia Ruta de la Telemedicina, que tiene como objetivo llevar atenci\u00f3n especializada a las zonas m\u00e1s alejadas del departamento de Caldas. De esta forma evitan que las personas que habitan zonas alejadas realicen traslados largos a los centros de salud de las ciudades del departamento. Esteban Granada, director de Telesalud, explic\u00f3 la importancia que este servicio representa para la poblaci\u00f3n de los municipios rurales: \u201clas personas del campo son las m\u00e1s beneficiadas, quienes tienen sus patolog\u00edas descompensadas y tratamientos incompletos, y gracias a la Ruta de la Telemedicina han podido acceder desde sus territorios a especialidades m\u00e9dicas como medicina interna, psiquiatr\u00eda, neurolog\u00eda, pediatr\u00eda, nutrici\u00f3n, psicolog\u00eda y dermatolog\u00eda, entre otras\u201d. Por otra parte, en la plataforma coronavirus Telesalud, las autoridades han logrado capacitar a 5 mil profesionales de salud a trav\u00e9s de cursos en l\u00ednea sobre temas como abordaje de COVID-19, cuidado paliativos de pacientes COVID, vacunaci\u00f3n, entre otros. Adicionalmente cerca de 600 personas han tomado el curso de capacitaci\u00f3n ABC para el buen vivir, que promueve el uso de herramientas para el manejo efectivo de emociones y primeros auxilios psicol\u00f3gicos.
