DCTs seek to take advantage of available continuous and heterogeneous data collection technologies in real world environments. Este mes fue publicado en la revista Nature el art\u00edculo: Potenciar la investigaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica en un mundo descentralizado, el cual describe las implicaciones de las tecnolog\u00edas, los entornos de confianza cero y la inform\u00e1tica federada en las DCT, impulsadas por las tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital. Los ensayos cl\u00ednicos hist\u00f3ricamente han sido dise\u00f1ados teniendo como enfoque central a los investigadores que se encuentran en el sitio donde se realizan. Los ensayos centralizados re\u00fanen a los participantes en centros de salud acad\u00e9micos, en d\u00edas y horarios establecidos: \u201cEl enfoque de ensayo centralizado, confinado a entornos poco realistas, genera hallazgos te\u00f3ricamente no sesgados, explican los autores\u201d. A trav\u00e9s de tecnolog\u00edas de Salud Digital, que adem\u00e1s cada d\u00eda se encuentran al alcance de m\u00e1s personas y centros de investigaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9micos, se busca una transici\u00f3n de entornos centralizados a entornos remotos. El art\u00edculo destaca tres ventajas de los DCT: La disponibilidad de numerosos biomarcadores digitales y puntos finales digitales que se pueden medir de forma remota y continua. La capacidad de monitorear eventos adversos en tiempo real directamente a trav\u00e9s de registros m\u00e9dicos electr\u00f3nicos vinculados. La reducci\u00f3n de los costos de las evaluaciones cl\u00ednicas durante el seguimiento de los ensayos cl\u00ednicos, con numerosos criterios de valoraci\u00f3n digitales recopilados continuamente a trav\u00e9s de DCT. Los ensayos tradicionales implican un mayor costo y m\u00e1s tiempo invertido por parte de los profesionales, adem\u00e1s su viabilidad se ha visto reducida durante la pandemia.
